Klimala's best role, if he stays with the squad, would be to pay as a super sub.

Only if we're playing the Chicago Fire apparently. Half his goals in 2022 came as a second half sub against them

no one is caping for him but no reason to boot him to the side unless the offer is good. He still can provide goals and assists

Try and forget how much money he cost or the initial expectations and take him for what he is - a backup MLS striker. Unless he's blocking us from signing a CB (unlikely), we could do a lot worse for the 4th guy in the striker depth chart.

Do we really want him to pout on the bench so Struber has to play amateur psychologist every day?

or we could start him in a 2 striker formation and give him a partner to run with vs lumping long balls to a single striker and countering with like 2 player. If he doesnt buy in a deal comes along thats right for all parties sell him. He is only one season removed of a 9 goal 5 assist season I would play him ahead of manoel in a 2 striker formation or we can get rid of him and get more Barlow minutes

You say like that's a good thing (and it's 8 goals, 7 assists). Last year the Klimala defender narrative was that he will go the Buksa route and improve from that. Well, no.

he didnt so what our offense was not good last year. Despite adding Morgan and luqinhas over 4 mil spent in attackers they scored 3 more goals from the run of play. Also our xg was 5 points lower. Also Struber admitted we need to improve in the attack and specifically our tactical approach.. Do I think it was a good signing no. Will I be upset if they do sell him not really but they arent going replace the spot this window or need it to sign a back up cb so currently he is a good depth piece who could become a contributor if things work out right so as long as he is here Im going be rooting for him

A lot of us would contend that our offense wasn't good because of that position, notably Klimala.

And when there's significant improvement with Vanzeir and Burke, that will be confirmed. They are both better players than Klimala. Klimala isn't totally awful,he's just not good. I'm slightly interested in seeing him in a 2 striker formation but even with that optimism, I know he's never going to be good. His first step isn't fast enough and his release on shots is far too slow.

the regression in underlying numbers to me tells the story that we relied on hard to score goals and didnt create as many good chances. Year one we created more just didnt finish Klimala is not an elite finishers but last season issues are well beyond one player

our chance creation last year was garbage.  but anything is possible he's not that old and the new competition may get him going again.  Even if we got 2021 Klimala again the team would be a lot better.  im indifferent to him staying or going.

I used google translate this polish story abt klimala.

"As Szymon Janczyk informs, the Americans will not cause problems with Klimala leaving, and his representatives are already working on finding him a new job. Where can a 24-year-old go?"

I appreciated klimala's hustle. It was elite. His passing was decent and his best position is probably a wing forward/mid. Kinda like how marsch used muyl.

However his finishing... awful. His athletic ability avg. He is not a striker or cf. Hold up play - non existent.
