That's fine, but when you come out to Columbus for the away trip and it's a majority of GSU and VA, and maybe 5 ESC guys, then you can say those words again and see what happens. Keyboard Warrior!

LOL. I've done the trip to Columbus twice, more than enough for me. Did it once with ESC Detroit and there was a random couple in the section as well. 5 people.

As for the road trip, would GSU have such a presence on the trip if ESC made the trip a priority? From my vantage point, it's the one game per season where GSU gets to play King of the Mountain and do their songs / chants and control the tempo of the supporters section. If ESC brought a 100 people, that would obviously change and one would see a large drop off the next year.

As for the GSU / Viking Alliance... pretty simple in my eyes. ESC is seen as the old guard who won't let the new kids come out and play. So, as two entities who want their values and interests pushed to the table, they team together. Nothing more, nothing less.

I've given up on having too much interest in this chess match (married, work, other hobbies), but the eyes can still see this and little has changed from 3 years ago.

Its sad that a few people in each supporter group can ruin something that could be huge. I think we could be bigger and better then the portlands and seattles of the league and once we get there, people are going to come to games just for that atmosphere and to have a good time.

Im a member of the Vikings but sit on the edge of 101 between the two groups, and I think we should all just combine maybe become (ESC, because of the history). Create a board of maybe 6 people and actually vote on things. Dont like doing chants in spanish? dont vote for it.  Want general admission in the southward? Let's put it to a vote! I know some stuff we dont have the power to do but if we can organize ourselves and present it to the front office, maybe we can get results. Just my thoughts.

Here's the thing. At one time there was only group and everyone who was in the supporter end was ESC. However, some folks didn't jive with that and decided to create their own groups.

So, to ask those groups that broke away to do their own thing to come back and become one group... makes no sense.

They are already together in the sense that everyone has a connection to the South Ward. As long as people have different interests and different directions they want to take supporterdom, opinions will differ. Nothing will change that.

Thing is, Benny had that opportunity before in 2010 but elected to start his own thing instead. He used to hang at El PAstor and away trips and was very active in the club. In 2010 ESC was looking for a couple new board members (and its never easy to find people willing to invest that time) and i'm sure Benny would have been appointed since not even enough people were nominated to force an election IIRC.

I got nothing against the guy personally, he's always done right be me on an individual basis, but I always questioned why he would try and start a rival club in the SW rather than utilize his abilties to grow ESC into new directions. This silly "Alliance" with GSU appears to be based on trying to fight with ESC, but it kind of a fruitless and pointless excerise. ESC is in 101, the biggest and loudest section in the SW and right in the center...there is simply no way you can "unify" a section without the anchor center section being respected.
