NBA has 16 + of 302 tested:

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Going to be interesting to see what happens here, there's apparently conflicting reports that these teams are exempt from this but since it's breaking news nothing is confirmed yet. If it's true I don't see how you can keep people out of outdoor stadiums and not indoor arenas so I don't see crowds for the Flyers or 76ers and I'd imagine NJ and probably NYC will end up doing the same as this...

No fans for the Giants or Jets just announced. Means no way we have fans in Red Bull Arena any time soon too..

Crowds of 500 would be OK:

Yea, Somerset Patriots have been doing crowds of 500 for some scrimmage game thing they came up with.

I don't have much interest in going to any stadiums/arenas this year so I'll just take my credit/refund instead.

IF there is a vaccine it's not going to be distributed to most of the US until mid to late 2022.

So if this is the approach they are taking now, we can expect no fans for at least all for next year too.

Which really makes little sense since the virus barely spreads outdoors (see the countless protests, lake parties, beach gatherings and other events that have resulted in no spike in cases).

The seats are outside but stadiums and arenas have a lot of tighter hallways, you have to pass by people to get to seats, bathrooms, etc etc.

Look at all the complaints about RBA when it's sold out and how you can't even move through the hallways.

The outbreak in Italy earlier this year has been directly linked to a soccer game in February. Remember spread is not just the people at the stadium - but also people taking mass transit, walking through the hallways, bathrooms, etc.

I certainly wouldn't expect fans at sporting events next year, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily tied to a vaccine timetable. We're seeing this because cases are still surging across the country.

The hallways and bathrooms can get packed, but the bathrooms are really the only widely-used indoor public space within Red Bull Arena.

The concourses are pretty much open air. And like protests have shown (like this one last month in Brooklyn), you can stand elbow to elbow with a mask on and not see a spike in cases.

So it doesn't make sense why fans aren't allowed at sporting events.

Weren't you calling this a hoax two months ago or something?

Then have or advise the PATH to not stop at Harrison around game time to discourage packed train cars.

NJ's government clearly can get more creative than what they are doing now. Are all the gameday and food service workers going to be out of a job for years while Phil Murphy stares at the millions in his bank account?

Nope. Never called it a hoax.
