Juninho is out with too many yellow cards.  No word as far as i know on the availability of Donovan, Gonzalez, or Dunivant, although the fact that this'll be played on the Refunders' rug makes me think they're not super-likely to play.

The Timbers crushed, humiliated, and otherwise had their way with the goats this evening to clinch first place in the west.  A win (or possibly even a tie, depending on how the Rapids do at Vancouver) would give the Gs third place and a match-up in the first round with Fake Salt Lake, against whom the Gs have fared well this season.  Otherwise, there's the mid-week wild-card game against either Colorado or Seattle.  So, you know, a win here would really be a good thing.

I'd rather not play Colorado on Wednesday night. Come On G's!

Turf or no turf, looks like Bruce wants this one.  Tonight's Gs:

Penedo; Franklin, Gonzalez, Opare, Cochrane; Stephens, Rogers, Sarvas, Rogers; Keane, Donovan

Subs:  Rowe, Meyer, Leonardo, Garcia, Jimenez, Courtois, Villarreal

Rogers starting?  That doesn't help anyone.  Why isn't Villareal, Jiminez or Courtois starting?  All 3 are better options that Rogers (he sucks).

Come on G's!

Crap, Penedo can't get to a cross and Gonzalez loses Dempsey, who scores.

Elsewhere, Camilo pulls even for the golden boot with that guy we gave up to get Rogers, and the Whitecaps lead Culorosado 2-0.  So if we leave ourselves stuck with the wild card game, at least we look to host the thing.

Omar scores a goal on the corner but the refs fuck up and say it isn't one.  Seeing the replay, it's pathetic how badly the refs missed it.

That was a good two feet over the line.  Serious home cooking.  (I've seen a photograph that made it look more like three.  We don't need goal like technology; we need refs who don't suck ass.)

Let's see Courtois in for the second half, please.

Jimenez in for Stephens at 64 minutes.

KEANE sets things right with a golazo at 77 minutes!

About the same time Villarreal came in for Rogers.

Just want to point out, Rogers out, Galaxy score.  Coincidence?

So what is the playoff scenario that would allow the Galaxy to host another MLS Cup?

We finish third with the draw and play Fake Salt Lake, against whom we won two of three during the season.

Anyway, we could host the final if it's against the Revs, Impact, or (wait for it) those guys who wear orange.

I'm not sure what was the deal with my boy Mikey, but he was not good tonight. Maybe he was playing with a broken foot.
