sad to hear. every time i read about something like this it makes me think how lucky dodger fans are to have vin.

regarding the NE Pats . . . was taping of other teams signs ever clearly made to be illegal? i consider myself quite the pointy ball junkie, and i was never aware of this rule.

I think that, because it's not part of the regular game films that teams exchange, that's what makes it against the rules. Granted, my understanding about this dates from the '70s when the technology was way different. But I think the principle is still the same, that all teams are supposed to have the same stuff to work with. Certainly that sounds like the NFL way of doing things.

AMERICA'S QUARTERBACK...we'll miss you Brett.
Not the most successful, but arguably the greatest Quarterback in America is retiring.

Don't worry, John Madden will still find a way to mention him every 2 seconds.

I agree that he is America's Quarterback. Not since Kenny Stabler has their been a quarterback that I'd actually like to have a beer with.

I saw this guy on a draft preview show and wondered when ESPN hired Urkel. But it turns out it was Cris Carter, who used to play for the Vikings.

Yeah, I'd been thinking maybe SA was finished, and it looks like the team agreed. I just hope he doesn't, like, sign with the 49ers and then suddenly get his '05 form back.
