Does Grand Marsch Tarkin want him back?

I mean, frankly, there's no reason he shouldn't be on the roster given how bereft we are of strikers. Especially if we're moving to 4-2-2-2

Hmm. Wonder if that means Allen is moving up to backup ST on the first team and Abang will be the starter for RBNYII.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Assuming they think Abang is even worth keeping, this is a tough call. Allen has looked like one of the worst players out there in the first two preseason games and I'd rather have Abang on the bench because he brings a different element (height/areal threat) than BWP or Veron up top. But Abang probably needs minutes and he won't get many with the first team, he'll need RBNY2 for that.

Abang has never impressed me. I know some like the guy, but he never really shown me much.

He had a decent goals/90 min number his first season. Given his age at the time, there was definitely reason to be optimistic about him. Regressed last year for sure.

Abang has so much raw ability.  Was inconsistent but I believe that should be expected with someone his age. (If his age is accurate anyway)

Big kid, good speed, and really skilled with the ball.

I remember what you are talking about and I remember the regression as well. I just do not think he'll ever pan out into a starting striker in a solo-striker formation. Not to say he isn't worth keeping as a bench option still.

Guy is still so young it was always strange why they wanted to ship him out so soon. I guess they smelled the potential transfer fee and tried to get it ASAP.

The talent and potential is still there. He adds a real target forward element and good ability in the air which is different than what we have. Allen tore it up at USL level but not really impressed by his skills that they would translate to MLS level. Abang never had his way with it at USL but he was productive in MLS and even earned call ups to Cameroon.

So all in all if we are not gonna sign a veteran type attacking option, it's good to have Abang here as an alternative option up top.

I'm biased in terms of Abang...after all, he scored against the Cosmos in the Open Cup.

In addition, Abang doesn't have Allen's stats in USL, but he has scored 8g in 14 games played for RB2 over the 1.5 yrs he was with us.

Abang was't playing at his loan club (which has had several coaching changes) and was trailing at another second tier Scandinavian club. I want to believe he is coming back to broker a deal away from RBNY, but I can't think of any interested parties.

So I'm even more confused. Maybe Hamlet rates him and wants to give him a second chance (since Ali is god-knows-where).

Maybe just give him a full season with RB2?

He's young enough where it makes sense.  I personally think he'll put up a hell of a scoring rate and then we'll have to elevate him next year.
