No venom.  Just amazed at how balanced our game is now that we are not reliant on SK to BWP as our scoring option.  We got hosed on the trade but we have stepped up our game significantly.  The young guys are real and have fit in well.

Yeah agree. My point was not to criticize Sascha but I think when assessing the trade we also need to consider that the player replacing him is Kaku, who in 2018 is likely a better player on all fronts--creating, scoring, seeing the field.

Yeah, I don't think it's venom.  Sacha was my favorite player on this team but last year the drop off was significant.  Yesterday we suffocated NYC with the press.  THat simply wasn't going to happen with Sacha on the field.  He can't close down on guys anymore.  Another example is that Sacha was never scoring that goal that Kaku got to yesterday.  Was just a less dynamic offense.

We are scoring at a ridiculous pace right now and it's because all of the pieces fit the system better.  THe fact that Kaku is very obviously a really good player helps, but anyone mobile at that position was going to change how things looked for us.

Sacha is still a very smart guy who's good on the ball though.  Because of that, he'll have value.  Just not nearly as much with how Metro is run. I've watched Orlando a few times this year and said it early on that they looked pretty good.  The biggest thing for them is that Dwyer is such a good forward.  Such a huge pain in the ass who always gets calls too.

GOnna watch them in a minute against RSL.  Hoping RSL can somehow manage a draw.

Sacha retired today. Best passer in team history, and it's not even close. First-ballot MF Hall of Famer.

Don't think we've ever had players as connected to each other / in sync as BWP and Sacha.  There run together was art on a soccer field.  Hope he enjoys retirement one of my favorites

Hope we get another player like Sacha one day.  He was one of the most fun players to watch this team has ever had.  Behind only maybe Henry for me.

Watching highlights of him and BWP had made me think Struber needs to go watch some tape of Marsch's teams. They always found ways to get Kljestan the ball in a good central spot not too far from goal, and BWP was always within 15 yards to receive a through pass. It really highlights how much our attackers play on their own individual islands under Struber. I bet any given week you could count the passes completed from our AMs to our strikers on one hand.

Enjoyed watching him play
Really saw the game at a different level

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

Hopefully Lade or one of the nyrb media outlets can get an interview with him. It would be cool to hear his experiences and take on the USMNT and nyrb

100%.  We have literally zero attacking ideas or patterns of play besides hoping Luqui or Morgan do something nice.
