The Galaxy's backsliding and crappiness is nothing compared to this. You hear about the loss of soldiers' lives but when it's someone you know...whoa.

Holy crap. I was talking to him for a bit about a month ago or so and he was telling me that he was gonna be deployed to Afghanistan. I'm really sorry to hear about your loss. I'll pray for you tonight.
"Last month I was in the Canary Islands, and I met up with Armada Sur, the supporters group for CD Tenerife. When the subject of MLS comes up one of the first things they ask me about is if I've heard of the Riot Squad and they mention that one of them has a LARS shirt, and describes the gask mask guy logo.

Halfway around the world and I can't get away from you guys?!?!"

Yeah, a couple of these were up in the "hills". I remember how we always managed to find our way to El Atacor, after B&G.
Usually followed by a dip in Miguel's pool. I was pretty new, back then. I also remember how our "halftimes", usually ended up being "thirds" We loved to play, back then. I remember the time Jair went and grabbed a wheelbarrow, at some house doing some construction (not the lady that use to steal our ball). He was adamant about the workers giving us some dirt to improve the ditches in the penalty area.

Good memories.

Again, very sad. I'm out for a few.

Oh my God man. I may have only met him once, but he was one of the most funny and cool people I've ever met in the Squad. I'm sorry for your loss man, I can't begin to imagine how hard this is for you. Stay strong Gunner, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

i am not intending to get into politics, but i come from a very strong pro-military family. one of the biggest regrets i have is that i didn't have the balls to enlist following the events of 9/11. i admire your brother for stepping up and covering for a wuss like me.

i won't pretend to understand everything that you (and your family) are going though, but i do believe that his (and your family's) sacrafice will make a difference and set an example for our future.

i am so sorry for your loss.

is there going to be a memorial fund in his name?
