While in NYC a couple of weeks ago, I went to the Stout Pub. They had Hop Devil as a Cask Conditioned Ale. It was fucking awesome!

FESTIVAL
Is anyone going to this? Does anyone want to go, it sounds like fun?
I will probably be going. I went to their Real Ale Festival in June. It was great.
My advice is to take Amtrak to Oceanside, then a taxi to the festival.
Good Times!!!!
WRONG!!!!!

I'll be turning my response over to Dr. Cox. Dr. Cox, if you please:
Thank you Dr. Cox.
Now back to our regularly scheduled beer discussion. Speaking of Victory beers, I had the V-Twelve the other night and was most pleased. Well balanced and tasty. Before you realize it you've finished it and are trying to get the last drop out of the bottom of the glass.

Sadly, I'm out of beer now but I have switched over to sipping a really nice anejo tequila I got in PV last weekend.

If I were single again, I would marry Bellhaven Scottish Ale.

Does sound like a good trip, but I seriously doubt I can break the chains to get down there.

A test at Granada University by Professor Garzon has proved drinking beer after exercise is better than drinking water. He asked a group of students to do strenuous exercise in temperatures of around 40ºC (104ºF). Half were given a pint of beer, while the others received the same volume of water. Prof. Garzon, who announced the results at a press conference in Granada beneath a banner declaring "Beer, Sport, Health", said the hydration effect in those who drank beer was "slightly better".

22 oz. of Anchor Brewing's Small Beer
From the label:
The tradition of brewing two distinct beers from one mash has existed for thousands of years, and for centuries the term "small beer" was used in English to describe the lighter and weaker second beer. By association, the term came to mean something of little importance.
We make our Old Foghorn Barleywine Style Ale from the rich first runnings of an all-malt mash, and Anchor Small Beer is our attempt to duplicate the "small beers" of old by sparging that same mash: sprinkling warm water over the Old Foghorn mash after the first wort has run off, thereby creating a second, lighter brew from the resulting thinner wort. Technically, both beers are "ales" because they are made with top-fermenting yeast.
We believe you will find Anchor Small Beer delicious—similar to what modern brewers call a "bitter"—and we hope you will also enjoy the idea of reviving an ancient brewing tradition, which is something of great importance.
When that's gone, I have some Old Speckled Hen and some Boddington's.

A friend sent this to me today. Don't know if it is actually true, but I sure want it to be.
MMMmmm... Beer
We test that theory most weekends after B&G. This expert agrees. Though I think that this is Prof. Garzon:
