Is this the Anaheim city league? If so, and it's the one I used to play in, it sucks hard.

Yeah, the same. This is more their deal though. I was only promoting it.

When I was really fit, before my LARS days, I played in South OC and it was worth the drive and early Sunday morning games.

The Anaheim league is infuriating. I literally had a one eyed ref with no linesman calling the game once. Needless to say he had a hard time with offsides calls. We had him a few times. The fields are dreadful, too.

The games will likely never be called fairly for any LARS type players. You pretty much have to be a group of guys from the same rural town in Mexico as the ref for any chance at fair officiating.

Plus, the air is so fucking awful in the summer there sometimes.

The only thing good about it is it's cheap.

Not that I care as I am truly beyond my playing days. If I even think about kicking a ball, I get a foot injury.

Ummm, have fun guys!

Besides the "one eyed ref," your description doesn't really sound any different than the league B&G used to play in.

I would even go far as to say that same description fits about 80% of rec leagues in So Cal.

Appreciate your encouraging input though....

one thing to keep in mind this is a new team, about the league ive played there before and all the comments are pretty much correct but it is cheap and with a new team you have to be careful how much you invest,if theres talent and commitment then you could look for a better one,i know of one but it is 500 to register a team and it only runs for aroud 3 months and then its another 500

this would be a good league to gauge interest with - its cheap, and they are fairly laid back with when you can enter and start playing. Once we get enough players, we can jump in the following week.

like josh said, i was in a rec leage 2 years ago that was about $400 to register the team, consisted of about 12 games, and that was that. fields were a little nicer (also had to pay $70 to reserve a home field) plus $15 for a player card and $75 each game for ref. If you want to pay the $$ you can play in a better league. For $40 a pop, its a very reasonable league.

the fields might be a little rough, nothing more than expected on a field used heavily for soccer all year 'round. We opted out of hiring a groundskeeper in the contract, we felt the club's funds ($1.00) would be better suited elsewhere.

Apparently, be sure to bring your shin guards, socks and nanoparticle meters for every game.

Werd!

PSC found a much better league in the LBC!

Thanks Joel!

Best of luck and like I said to Fern, if you guys ever need a practice match we're always open to kicking it around...

Damn those are some exorbitant fees!!! I am currently a treasure of a league in south OC. We charge 160 dollars per year. That includes player registration for 20 players and tournament fee. You get to play (depending on what division you are in) up to 30 games per season. The ref fee is $50 per game.

The refs were kinda generous to us though. They knew we didn't fight and I think that put them at ease.
