A great road trip, for the forty or so who made it.
IIRC, Polish Pete & Hawk then drove directly to Utah!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I think that was the next week; Hawk & Konrad drove from Utah to LA for the cup final.  Either way, that game vs. Houston was a total surprise, Houston was such a solid team and we were throwing out JPA plus Danny Cepero & a band of misfits.  Houston fans were so stunned they'd lost, it was *wonderful*.  Chanting in the parking lot with Kevin Goldthwaite's mom...good times.

That was the best soccer day of Dane Richards' life. He was like Jamaican Messi (for 90 minutes).

Anyway, back to the future: tomorrow. There have been so many games in the past where we start off well but can't score, it gets inside the team's head and it turns into a game of 20 shots and none in the net.  I just hope they get a goal early and the game is open; we've seen too many of those games where we press & press and can't finish. Praying we don't do that shit again tomorrow.

I defer to your sober recollections!
Perhaps what I am remembering is Piotr putting Utah flights on his credit card for several ESCers.
I presume they reimbursed him!

that game vs. Houston was a total surprise

Magical. Completely unexpected, after the 1-1 home leg.
Big step on our only (so far) run to MLS Cup final.
The 2003 USOC run through Yurcak was possibly better, since there were more Metro fans present to enjoy it.

Houston fans were so stunned they'd lost

I do recall some wailing and gnashing of teeth!

best soccer day of Dane Richards' life.

There always has to be a best day.
At least we were witness to his!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I remember Dane saying he would run that left back into the ground (Wade Barrett?) and then doing so.

This time we dominate at home, blow Columbus away and continue our trip to win our first MLS Championship.   This is our year!

Need to go into the half tonight up 2-0 as insurance in case Columbus gets one in the second half.

i dont think we have the roster where Royer even off form shouldn't start in a game where we need to win by two goals.   Unless we were playing 3 in the back and using kemar and amir as fullbacks

I bottled my 2017 BWPinot Noir last night and it was (for cheap home made wine) excellent.

Hoping that's a good sign for tonight!

Cheers.

I think we will have to get at least 3 goals today cause I see Columbus getting 1. Really hope we can pull this off today.
