The thing I don't understand is....what is preventing us from buying an Almiron, or Josef Martinez type player, have them play here for a few years, and then we sell them to a European team for a profit. Or even sell them to Leipzig or Salzburg like Tyler Adams. Isn't that Red Bull philosophy? Develop young talent, sell, and make money?
That is what we should be doing, maybe not to the extent of paying the transfer fees Atlanta did and does...but outside of developing Tyler and buying Kaku two winters ago the well has dried up.
Jørgensen could potentially net RBNY a profit, but he is a project at this point and it could go either way.
Think there is a gap right now with the IIs and the academy where there isnt another Tyler like talent ready to step into the first team and get showcased for a future sale.
Best bet right now is probably Tolkin and maybe Sowe down the line.
Has to be corrected with a larger number of outside purchases of young talent for the time being. Mitchell and Fernies time to shine.
