Toronto picks up a point at Yankee Stadium tonight, moving them 1 point ahead of us with 1 extra game played. Toronto is stringing together some results, having not lost since we defeated them 2-0 at RBA on 8/3.

TFC missed 3 big chances on clean shots inside the box AND missed a penalty in the second half.

The next 4 matches will be tough. I can see us getting 1 or 0 points in the next 4. It will come down to decision day. Winner of our final match of the season will make the playoffs.

Everyone around us dropping points means we are in, prior to the Philly home game.
3 wins in the final 3 games would see RB finish 4th and host a playoff game.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

LAFC winless in 5, including 2 draws and a loss at home, after going 19W-4D-3L in their first 26.

They have Houston and Rapids in their remaining home games, so some wins are on the way, but the "best MLS team ever" has shown some vulnerability.

Entire league will be level at 32 games played after tonight.

1st in the East can stand anywhere from virtually clinched (not mathematically) by Boy City tonight to becoming a neck and neck race between them and Atlanta.

Philly plays at San Jose. Philly trying to secure at least 3rd. Us, DC, and TFC hoping they lose out.

New England plays at Portland, trying to secure the last playoff spot.

They have almost wrapped up 1st in East and the 2nd overall seed (Union can still theoretically catch them, but it's not going to happen).

If LAFC don't make it out of the West, MLS Cup could be played at Yankee Stadium.

Its a frightening thought. However, hopefully we beat them at Citi Field before it comes to that.

Citi Field confirmed for East playoffs home games for NYC, assuming the Yankees play for long enough to cause schedule clashes (ALCS 6 or 7 games and any WS, respectively).

Let's go Yankees! Because I'm a Yankees fan and because I would find great humor in this.

I once went to a game at Citi. The soccer field is laid out east-west iirc, instead of north-south in most places. Won't be a problem for a game played at night. In any case, it appears that if NYC gets to play for the Cup at home, it will be at YS.

It would be. World Series ends no later than October 30th, MLS Cup Final is on November 10th.
