Armas has his moments, that's why we're mid table and not bottom feeders. They're just not very consistent moments and the time in between ain't pretty.

Joe Goldstein on Seeing Red podcast had an idea to Start Royer at striker, and Sims and Muyl on the wings. I don't hate that idea...

Royer as a lone striker scares me a little. Can't do the physical hold-up work that White and Barlow do, and can't finish like BWP when he gets the ball in the box.

Not sure why we stopped pressing again after the goal. Second half was painful, never strung more than a few passes together. Game was crying for Kaku and some possession. Rza was done at 70 and needed to come off.

Great win though. Made playoffs. Decent chance for 5th and maybe even 4th.

The guys looked gassed in the second half to me. To be honest both teams looked gassed in the second half, that was some ugly soccer on display.

Lots of praise overall to go around in this one, but one guy I don't think has gotten his due credit is Barlow. That was easily the most mature performance he's had as a pro. His movement off the ball, hold up play, and confidence with the ball at his feet were all a clear step above what we've seen from him so far.

CCJ... great player and decent game but he has to break his habit of lunging into tackles after he takes a heavy touch or loses possession. That was a horror tackle on Paredes and I still have no idea how he avoided a red card there, he's done the same thing a few times this season but luckily avoided obliterating anyone's legs until yesterday.

Royer BWP

Davis CCJ Sims

Kemar Long Parker Murillo

I really like the team in this shape, its less rigid and predictable than the 4-2-3-1 and puts Kaku closer to goal where he belongs. Its just a shame we're missing a lot of the necessary personnel to make it work. Given what we have to work with, I'd swap in Rzatkowski and keep Sims as a second half sub.

Huh? Pretty clear hand contact, so under new rules, it would be 100% disallowed.

Even under the current/old rules, I think it seems pretty intentional the way he turns his body/left his arm hanging. I thought it was weird to not even have the ref look at replay.

Since the new IFAB rule changes went into affect after the MLS season started, MLS defers them to next year.
