3rd goal BY FAR THE WORST . Sliding with ur hdnd up ?
I honestly can't blame him for this one. Its entirely possible that your hand can be away from your body with zero intent to play the ball or "make yourself big" like a keeper would. These calls are a pet peeve of him, they drive me insane even when they're in our favor.
The criteria for handball in this sport is a total mess. There are 4 or 5 elements, all of which can happen totally independent of each other, that don't appear to be ranked in any way. More than any other call in the game a handball is just whatever the ref decides it is that day.
its hilarious that the Dynamo are double dipping in this competition after being in champions league this season. Obvious money grab that no one wants. Only issue is that i wish boy city was invited but they can't deal with the scheduling of extra home games with no stadium
Houston's coach has already said that they plan on playing mostly USL guys in this tournament, I'd hope we do the same if we ever get invited... Although "voluntold" might be the better word for how the four teams here got involved.
Who are we kidding though, this thing probably won't even exist next year.
I'd imagine no Kaku call up is a big negative for RBNY. Now he'll be even more pissed / sulking. Honestly a lot is probably his fault. Missing a big chunk of club games right before this tourney probably killed his chances.
Not just that, but this likely puts a good dent in his market value, which neither he or RBNY will be happy about. With the sell-on percentage Huracan worked into the deal we'd need to sell him for quite a bit to make a profit. Copa America was his opportunity to showcase himself outside of MLS, which let's be honest is still a blip on the international radar.
I don't know about the red card for that though. Yes, he did foul, but he didn't exactly take the guy completely out of play. Yes, there was some grabbing, he impended a little bit and let go, it was soft, and falling down or not, the guy got a great shot off, which Robles was very fortunate to save. Foul, yes. Yellow card - yes. Straight red - not sure about that. I've seen a lot worse fouls without a red, and this was a bit harsh. Not completely wrong, but I don't recall too many straight red calls like that. Harsh.
Its all about being the last man, doesn't matter if its the softest foul in the world at that point, if its a foul its a red.
That ref's stats are absurd though, I think they said on the broadcast it was his 6th red card in 11 games? Something's very wrong with your approach if you constantly need to toss players like that.
Seriously, I really dont get it it what RB gets from having a soccer team in America. I means Americans consume a shit ton of Of Energy Drinks other drinks like Monster. In fact its leading in terms of sales: https://money.cnn.co...bull/index.html
Not sure how a poorly run soccer team, where a majority dont care to come and support, and for those who consume it probably never heard of RB New York can help the Red Bull brand. RB should just cut its loses and sell. The bigger question is who can right the ship.
I know this is a blasphemous idea, but maybe at some level they actually just care about running a sports franchise for the sake of running a sports franchise without it all being about marketing for the energy drink?
They're not perfect owners and this year especially is not trending in the right direction on any front, but for the most part they've been at the top end of MLS clubs as far as investment has gone.
What the hell happened to our scouting? Finding diamonds in the rough was our MO for a few years, we swung so rapidly to the other end of the spectrum where we're overpaying for busts. Ivan and Jorgesen are the two biggest transfers since Kaku, neither can even get into the 18 after several months/years with the team.
