They announced two more home games. Absolute bullshit that Columbus gets another game. So fucking annoying and absolutely bullshit the east coast doesn't get a game. Cowards...

USA vs El Salvador - 1/27 - Columbus
USA vs Honduras - 2/2 - Saint Paul

There's a real crappy attitude that says pull players from across our country (and beyond) as we are a proud nation of immigrants..... while saying lets play all of our qualifiers in places these same immigrant groups are away from.

Zero games on the east coast (or south west coast) is crappy AND shitty. BOTH!

I agree, I can at least understand it for the Mexico game because those games can actually turn into away games but this is Honduras and El Salvador, there's no reason that these games both have to be in the Midwest. Even if there's some of their fans at games on the east or west it wouldn't be enough to make a real difference atmosphere wise. It's a bs excuse.

Not to mention that February in Minnesota can be brutally cold, I saw people using the excuse of travel but these guys fly on private planes and an extra hour on a private plane isn't gonna hurt them. It's all a joke.

If the Panama game ends up not being on the east or west coast it will be even a bigger embarrassment to me.

Especially because poor weather is usually an equalizer that benefits the "worse" team - don't we expect to hold the ball against Honduras and El Salvador at home?

They aren't going to put a qualifier in a 3-game window on the west coast. It's way too much travel for the players based in Europe. You'd be asking the players in continental Europe to travel 9 time zones.

Both of our away games in that March window will be in the Central Time Zone, so the home game probably will be too. I'd be surprised if it wasn't in Austin, and I'd be very surprised if it isn't at least somewhere in Texas.

So now the USSF is racist? How woke of you.
FYI, immigrants are everywhere in this country.
I have relatives in rural Cascadia, middle of nowhere.
Their schools have many children of immigrants.

BTW, Columbus is only 55% non-Hispanic white:
https://worldpopulat...s-oh-population

15% of the households in the St. Paul area do not speak English at home.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

USMNT needs all the advantages it can get.

I honestly disagree. We need to get out of this mindset. Against Mexico, maybe. Against the bottom two teams in the Oct, I do not think we need to manufacture fake advantages.

Well if the vast majority of these immigrant groups rooted for the US and not their home country, maybe they would

I think most of the I 95 quailes since the 98 cycle had a metric f ton of away supporters. I know the DC ones with the El Sal and Honduras definitely did.

And RBA was a shitshow of monumental proportions as it wasnt even the amount if CR fans but just how quiet the US ones were and one of a few major causes why the US lost.

Facts are facts. The center of gravity of US Soccer has moved West from the early days of the I 95 corridor. Blame AO. Blame the internet. Blame NBCSports even. I suspect I wont see another qualifier within a 5 hour driving distance in my lifetime. And you know, at this point Im ok with that because its exactly what the US fanbase is at this point.

And given the time windows involved, Seattle, that noted inventor of everything, is also out as are their Portlandia brethren until FIFA and or CONCACAF screw around with the quaile schedule yet again.

So, Midwest it is. That said, double dipping in Columbus is a slap in the face to KC

After 10/10/2017 you shouldn't.
We finished 5th of 6 in the Hex.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Columbus - 55% white, but 35% black and Asian. So, not particularly Hispanic.

MN - most of that 15% are Asian, no? Hispanic is only 3% of the population if I read that link right

I can get the argument for no west coast games cause of the time zone difference like you said but Columbus is the same time zone as the entire east coast, Minneapolis is an hour behind. There's no reason these games can't be anywhere on the east coast. It's a joke.

Seriously, if we can't beat Honduras or El Salvador at home, no matter what city it is how is this team gonna perform in the world cup?

All of this bs is weak excuses. It makes USA soccer come off as mentally weak. Oh no there might be a few hundred Costa Rica fans at RBA making noise. Oh no we lost cause the US fans weren't so loud.

These things being normalized as excuses as to why that 2017 team shit the bed is absolutely embarrassing.

Columbus ... not particularly Hispanic.

7% per the linked article.

MN ... Hispanic is only 3% of the population

5.6% per the census.

Seattle and Portland are also out because they're turf fields.
