that's a big cap hit off the books if he is indeed leaving.

Is robles out? ... weird Twitter message today
Can someone cut & paste?
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Is robles out? There was a weird Twitter message today of him thanking the fans
Didn't see it. Link?

Yeah, the tweet certainly isn't there now.
From a GM and financial perspective, I don't like paying a Keeper much at all. Just don't get a bad keeper and you are fine in this league. I view it similarly to a RB in football where there are enough good ones that you can be more than fine as long as you don't have a bad player at the position.
WHere I get scared of getting rid of Robles is that he's good from a culture standpoint. And culture can be tough to create. Great coaches can pull it off on their own but Armas isn't a great coach. Culture means a lot.

I don't take that as though he's gone. Nothing is mentioned in the past tense and it seems like a quote from media day or something.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Good players get paid more, I mean.
Especially in MLS I'll take a proven commodity in goal for a big cap spot than an unproven one. We can experiment with other parts of the lineup.

would prob need to bring in a guy in his 30s to serve as GK2 and be a $100k cap hit. Louro could use another yr with RB2, he's gonna be 24 for the 2020 season, only 70+ pro games at USL level. wouldn't hurt for him to have more experience with the reserves, imo. i think he's not part of the senior roster (Slots 1-20), but part of the "Supplemental/Developmental" part of the roster (Slots 21-30).
