Ivan is a freaking con artist. Signed from the German 4th division to make 300k+

The guy has impressive skills and athleticism, he just hasn't been good on the final pass.    I can see why they signed him.

Its a salary of burger king manager in manhattan...

$1,000 daily for a BK manager?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Let's face, seems that every year we have guys that just eat up salary and dont contribute. For what Ivan and Jorgensen(sp?) make, we sure are shitting the bed when we could have just traded for and MLS journeyman for a sure bet.

Jorgensen is ass, but the logic to buying him makes sense.

Ivan never made any sense from the start, even if his salary was a third of what it is.

We also have guys that are underpaid relative to their performance and we're extracting great value from them. You'd be hard pressed to find any club (in any sport, really) that is not carrying a player(s) that is vastly overpaid and/or dead weight. If you measure clubs' performances over the past 6 years versus their payrolls, I'd imagine we are at the very top of the league in terms of bang for your buck.

All that being said, we all want to see more investment into the squad and smart investment, at that. But, it's hard to make a thorough argument that they've invested poorly with what they've been allowed to spend when looking at the full scope.

Jorgensen was a favor/directive from RB headquarters.

Ivan sucks at any cost. I agree. Even if he was making Joe Vide money, hes still taking up an international slot. It makes me think that were repaying an agent for a previous deal.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Royer is having an mvp season. Do we know when his contract is up? He is roughly 29 yrs old and he has been with us for a few seasons

Standard contracts are typically 3 years guaranteed then one or two years with a club option. Contract options often come with salary bonuses and Royer is already a TAM player, will be interesting to see what happens with him over the off-season.

Good article in the Ahtletic about these: https://theathletic....lking-there-is/

I assume when Cosmo ran a piece naming Boswell as a hot bachelor, it was after he got a substantial raise. Not too many eligible bachelors on $11k!
