He grew on me, that's all.

Just to make sure this thread gets split eventually, Sven love needs no qualification. He was one of the best players in the entire league in 2013; almost certainly because Petke made him leave his comfort zone and approach the position in a different way. It's a shame the two of them never saw eye-to-eye.

Well, if there was any doubt it's happening.

Per source, confirming reports from Central America about Panamanian centerback Fidel Escobar. Closing in on deal with #RBNY.

Like the international resume.  I assume that means this kid can walk into the starting 11 tomorrow?  Cause that's the CB we need.

Also, possible details on the contract.

"Agreement between Fidel Escobar and NY Red Bulls: year and a half to loan with option to buy"

Seems like little odds and ends and medical and its official

"Medical review could be given today. We are waiting for some questions. It is advanced. Almost everything is ready. We expect a protocol issue, "said Carles.

Of the two strongly rumored signings way happier about this one.  Part of me naively thinks their may be a third one that will surprise us, but who knows.

I saw 2 highlight vids where he scores with a cannon shot at goal. and the other was a free kick from about 25 yds? felt like a right-footed Branco was back on the squad, just w/o the 2 packs of Brazilian cigs per day habit...

Knicks brass after a weak-ass Charles Smith game: "In college one year, he led the country in scoring."

NY sports writer replied "Which country?"

Felipe, Fidel...we need a Filimeno, Fulgencio or a Fausto.

No Fredos though, we already have one of those. #Zizzo

I always joke that Zizzo is the one giving his teammates the fresh cut.
