#1373670 Lineup for next season

Posted by Efried on Yesterday, 10:51 AM

Some of that is coaching.  He had 3 goals and 10 assets in 13 matches played under Marsch and he's had 10 goals and 14 assists in 57 matches played since.  Not against an upgrade, and I know part of his 2019 slump was probably because of his unhappiness in not getting his transfer, but I think having Armas as a coach hurt him.

perhaps but im seeing those things more as tendencys in his game. I think his early success also was aided by being an unknown entity to the league now teams know to keep him off his left foot and for the most part drop off him because he doesnt take space

There was a time that anyone who spent more than a minute playing at that level would have been welcome in MLS.   We've gotten past that, and there are plenty of guys getting regular minutes who wouldn't make it here.

possible but from what Ive seen a lot of yearwood level talents in those leagues are there either ex big club academy guys who couldnt break in like a Matt olosunde or smaller club academys like a yearwood who flew under the radar

BWP and Rodgers from League One, Lloyd Sam from the Championship (but fresh from a League One loan), Royer from the Danish league, Perrinelle from Ligue 2, Grella from some unholy NASL/Danish second tier combo.

We have a surprisingly decent track record of player signings from that level of play.  Now it's just a matter of meshing that with Red Bull Global's insane success rate with youth signings and putting together a team capable of competing of MLS.

people severely underage the depth and amount of young talent at the league 1 championship level

I don't think Omir and MInes look totally out of place.  They both showed potential in early games.
Mines especially should be getting more chances - in a year with 5 subs this is the time for him to play.
Omir need to be more consistent and impactful.  Like some coach said - he is a soccer player.

something like 3 of the U17/U18 USYNT players ever go on to full USMNT regulars - just as a development stat not equivalency

mines issue has been injury he is out now with a groin injury but he put in a lot of work to get stronger and can hang much better at this level still got a lot of potential to be very good

Would it be surprising if the release $ wasnt that high?  I mean he could have went the Reyna route and just not signed an MLS contract. At least we get to see him play for a year.

Reyna didnt wait until he turned 18 to go to Europe Caden does have to wait so he cant go that route its a big reason why he is here

This game vs Toronto was his best really bosses the midfield and was crucial in us pinning them back for long portions of the game. Love his ability to ping a ball to switch fields

yeah reading around, including your stuff, its promising.  Most of our best prospects historically have been midfielders.    I'm really looking out for defenders, because Sean has actively worked on bringing them in from outside the academy since he came and the defender pipeline has been dry on first team impact post Miazga.  (I dont think Tolkin's best position is wingback either, he would fit best as a left side carrilero type in a skinny diamond, or DM).

I think Tolkin can still be a defender as his instincts are very solid he is like mines where he needs to bulk up and just physically get stronger. The u-15s have a few cbs who could be interesting prospects. U-19d also have a kid max Andrews who is kind of a Tim Parker clone in style and build as well but has gotten better each season I watched him starting 2 years a go with u-15s

any thoughts if we could sign him?
Could he play MLS level next year or maybe 1 more year full time at USL?

or if he gets a passport/has a passport and can hook into good team is he likely going?
(can't say it is wrong if you could land into a good team for development)
(of course would like for him to develop for 2 more years here - who knows if he meets struber and likes him)

he wont go before he is 18 from what Ive been told. Wants a hg deal sooner rather than later not sure if Red Bull is that high on him to offer it so soon

I will tell yall the Red Bull midfield depth at the academy level is absolutely stacked they currently have an 06 playing u-19 who is a top prospect and could see usl minutes as soon as next season

Heath is talking about the 75k gam they got no sell on was included

#1373116 New ass coach: Bernd Eibler

Posted by Efried on 13 October 2020 - 01:15 PM

Mattersburg recently dropped out of professional football when they went into administration. From what I see around Austrian football eibler is a well regarded young coach already has his uefa a license which is impressive for a young guy

#1373005 Samuel Tetteh To New York Red Bulls

Posted by Efried on 10 October 2020 - 09:34 PM

He needs to be played out wide or up top Carnell been doing this weird thing where the striker drops off to play attacking mid. Not sure if thats because kaku is out or what. Tetteh wasnt terrible made some nice passes and should have drawn a foul at the top of the box after a nice passing sequence but he is also not a 10 he is best in and around the box and in space

75k is a terrific deal Minnesota was trying to get 200k+ at one point. MLS stepped in from what Ive heard
