Brian is in New York. New York Red Bulls have extended his lease with six years, says Brian Nielsen's agent, Kim Wacker, to tipsbladet.dk.

It is almost like Red Bull GmbH doesn't care or understand that this guy is crippling us in a salary cap league. Let the dude train and rehab in Salzburg for christ's sake. They have a reserve team there and sufficent facilities to get him up and going. Why let him stay here and waste away on our training room floor and take up six figures in valuable cap space.?

I have never once been a fan of this move since the day it was announced in 2010. The whole deal is just fishy.

It seems Philly fans have signed up on metrofanatic to vote for themselves (in 'What team do you hate more?') . No real fan of this team would vote anything other than DC.

"He has the injury history here, and therefore they would like to see him for six more months"

Maybe I'm reading into this too much, but to me that sounds like, "he spent two years there getting paid to do absolutely nothing so will give them a pity consolation and extend the loan six months to make them feel better."

Will he still count against the cap when the loan expires? I sure as hell hope not.

Comeback player of the six months.

haha. I think he would qualify for comeback since he technically played 4 minutes. If he's that good we will keep him for the year im sure. (which means he gets hurt the day after we extend his '6 month contract')

It does seeem like that Red Bull Salzburg doesn't want him anywhere near them, so we get to be their garbage pile.
