MLS SuperDraft - Jan. 21 2pm

14 January 2021 - 04:39 PM

3 round draft next week.
Natural picks: 13, 40, 67
Seagrist trade: 81

Least number of players that have ties to our academy in recent years. A few eligible seniors from our academy were not on the MLS eligible list, but we didn't have many graduating that I expected to pursue a pro career. Wondering if we will get some HGP and NYRBII deals for some of the guys that do have some talent that were not on the eligible list.

RBNY U23 players (none from the academy): Mike DeShields
Allen Gavilanes
CC Uche
Gavilanes impressed me a bit (similar to Brian White). Uche is highly rated, but struggled a bit at times with the U23s. Only saw DeShields twice, although I know he has ties to New Englands USL1 team.

Juventus to poach Clark?

21 December 2020 - 08:17 PM

Kaku's 'obvious replacement' from RBFOs perspective, Caden Clark might get poached by Juventus before the season even starts...

"Active" during trading window?

13 December 2020 - 07:48 AM

Apparently Red Bulls are "active" during this mornings trade window. No clue if that means actively pursuing players or have deals finalized.

2021 New York Red Bulls II Thread

30 November 2020 - 02:04 PM

Roster decisions:

Options Exercised: Jake Lacava, Omar Sowe

Options Declined: Wallis Lapsley, Roy Boateng, Preston Kilwien, Edgardo Rito, Joe Fala, Deri Corfe, Cherif Dieye, Samad Bounthong, Barry Sharifi, Sebastian Elney

Zajec in negotiations.

Luca Lewis likely 3rd keeper for MLS team.

Based on the social media account, this was pretty obvious as they only talked about these players and the academy kids since the season ended.

Incorrect salaries reported

25 November 2020 - 08:26 PM

congrats to him, it was a disgrace they didnt let him try one last season to get it right

wonder what LAFC is paying him. here is last seasons number

Tom Barlow New York Red Bulls F $56,250.00
$56,250.00

Mathias
Jorgensen New York Red Bulls F $275,000.04 $306,250.04

Brian
White New York Red Bulls F $57,225.00 $57,225.00

Bradley
Wright-Phillips New York Red Bulls F $1,200,000.00 $1,380,000.00

I would guess this year looks something like this

Matty ice 300k
white maybe 80-90k
Barlow 70-80k

bwp maybe 400?

so we spent around 450-500k anyways and all our options were borderline useless
