Maybe this will be the move that will force Muyl to be a fullback....

Ah who the fuck am I kidding. That makes too much sense for this team to do.

Not the level of signing we need.  Plain and simple.

I'm not impressed. Haitian Messi better not be losing minutes for a guy that doesn't bring much more than him for a lot more money.

Stupid nerdy request: can they settle for normal jersey numbers for these guys? All this hockey-style nonsense: 62, 92, 55, 47, 77, 78...

(I know Collin has a good reason for 78, but still.)

2, 9, 10, 11?

Don't know this guy so doesn't really knock my socks off. Remains to be seen what he has to offer.

Wonder if this be the end of our summer shopping.

i had a dream last night that we signed someone with a middle eastern ish name (nailed it) and then Marsh told me we were working on someone with red hair. So if we end up signing a red head, nostradamus confirmed.

I wish him well but this looks like another clutter signing. We have enough solid guys. Need a proven difference maker.

5 year plan

Keita seems promising, seems pacey and can finish plays.. I like it
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.

With how well Davis is playing in that spot, we can afford to take it slow with Keita.  Make sure he fully understands the system and the role.  Also potentially build some chemistry with guys before it really matters.

Helped Murillo big time.  Jesse waited on Murillo longer than some of us would have liked and it's worked out.  Keita is older and speaks English well so the transition shouldn't be as long, but it's very good for him to really understand how this team does things.

both Fidel and Keita will prob get 1 match or so with RB2 just to get them in the swing of things. i figure both to be on the 1st team around the time of the USOC semi.

I kind of like it. Makes this team unique. I think we will see more of it in the future when guys from 2 come up and want to keep their numbers (I don't think reserves are issued numbers owned by a first teamer, could be wrong though).

I hope I'm proven wrong, but I really don't see this as worth the roster spot unless they plan on actually benching Muyl.  We're now sitting on:

Royer

Muyl

Keita

Etienne

Veron

Lade?

Zizzo?

We peak at slightly above MLS average at best.

Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

This could be the ideal XI going fwd:

-----------------------------BWP------------------------------

-------Davis--------------Sacha-------------Royer--------

--Taxi---------------------Felipe------------------Adams--

--------------Long--------Collin------Murillo---------------

----------------------------Robles-----------------------------

Prob most "used" reserves:

Meara

Perrinelle Escobar Zizzo Lade

Keita Muyl Etienne

Veron

The rest:

Louro

Ndam BAAH

Metzger Basuljevic GRELLA

Agreed, very strange number assignments.

Doubles (33, 55, 77, 99) could reference desired but unavailable single-digit numbers. Perhaps the same for 6-2 & 9-2. Some (16, 19, 31) could be squad numbers.
Collin's 78 might have some personal significance. His birthplace used to be in Department 78, although he was born long after it was split off into D95.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
