#1374826 Miazga rejects extension

Posted by Metrohoboken on 19 November 2020 - 09:47 AM

If he stayed with rbny and made long money, he would of developed into a better player. He would of had stability in playing time and a coaching staff that was invested in him. At the time, his focus should of been the usmnt. There was a legit chance for him to start in the qualifiers and help that usmnt qualify to the world cup. Then, you make the $$ move. If he stayed, he would of been the best defender in MLS and wouldnof forced arena to start him in the usmnt. Who knows, maybe he starts over Gonzalez in TT and rewrites history.

He moved to europe and became a bust. He barely improved. He still makes the same mistakes as when he was with rbny. Will he be the starting cb for usmnt? I doubt it. I can see berhalter pick richards, long, brooks and Zimmerman before he picks miazga.

lol - bust

Dream hater - kid dreamed of playing in Europe and Chelsea was the EPL team he supported while getting paid to not just follow but live his dream.

Plays in Europe and Got to see many different cites while getting paid to play a game and made $$$. And plays for USMNT.

LOL

If we're tied after 90 mins, does it go straight to PKs or is there extra time?

By league rule we forfeit
Thats so metro

Ok.  You can flip a coin on Davis and Yearwood.  I gave edge to Davis because he is the captain, and he seems a bit more setteled on the ball.

Gotta go Yearwood to see how they look

lead from the sidelines!

Its what people at my job do

Looks like Long may have gotten away with a foul on Tommy McNamara on the winning goal.  Haven't seen a real good view of it, but it looks like he yanked on TM just as Parker was flicking the ball centrally.  TM ended up on the turf.  Doesn't matter now.

thats what I thought but it was reviewed and ruled a good goal.

Long wins BATTLE OF THE MULLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please please no more Barlow. I would be ok with this:

----royer----jorgensen

----kaku-----valot

----yearwood---CCJ

Duncan--parker--long---egbo

--------meara

Clark off the bench at 60', white off the bench if we need a goal, Davis/stroud if we need to protect a lead.

with J in the line up are you betting against us?????????

I think we are best in 4231

Meara
Duncan-Parker-Long-Pendant
CCJ-Yearwood
Valot/Stroud-Kaku-Royer
White

However, if they still want to continue to try to get the leash off than maybe strap him to some more time with White and Kaku

me personally I am done and want to leash Tetteh to a Return to Sender

maybe they go 1 D mid?  mix of CCJ and Yearwood -

Not saying I would play CCJ as sole D mid

Royer and Kaku

White and Tetteh

(I know Carnell likes Barlow but maybe he starts on the weekend)

#1373818 Some people like listening to Shep

Posted by Metrohoboken on 26 October 2020 - 07:01 AM

whether its because im used to it or they are good i really enjoy watching our games on MSG and listening to Shep and Steve as well.  For a "hometown" broadcast they are critical about the team at times but fun to listen to.  Every broadcaster has their querks anyway.

Also I frankly think they are better informed about the opponent than several national broadcasts are informed about our team.

True cheering for the team but not homers and also reasonably critical.

They also do not talk ALL THE TIME.  The tone and pacing is excellent.

I hate broadcasters who are constantly feeling the need to FILL all the airtime. Like Taylor Twellman's partner or former partner is annoying.

Oh and then there are broadcasters who have to tell you the tiny personal tidbit which is the 30 of the broadcast.

(I like the occassionaly like Giasi Zardes originally dyed the top of his hair yellow so his grandma could see him easier on the field/TV)

I think a huge part of that is him just trying to find some positives in a horribly negative season. We all know this team needs some better players, so does Shep but what's the point of saying something we all know for 90 mins and shitting on guy's who aren't out there trying to suck. He comments "x needs to do better" and talks about the poor quality of play enough at times that I think he does an ok job.

I know not everyone is the biggest fan of Shep but when you start listening to other broadcasts around the league we really could have it so much worse.

Yeah shep is clueless wish he had played with some quality players in his day....

neiskins

beckenbauer

cough cough some pele guy or something

i enjoy shep for the most part.  Guy is a huge fan of the team and wants the best for them

and Steve is fantastic

actualy thread split might be interesting in thoughts on broadcasters around the league and world.

#1373787 MVP for 2020

Posted by Metrohoboken on 25 October 2020 - 08:36 AM

Thiewell for letting go Armas?

I feel bad for saying that as I was ok with letting him finish out the season and seeing what happened

Duncan most minutes and in golden boot race with 3 games left!!!

#1373613 Current Roster - Start, Bench, Move (cut, trade, sell, or demote) in 2021

Posted by Metrohoboken on 21 October 2020 - 06:24 PM

Duncan just made MLSSoccers list of most underrated players. I think I read yesterday he is 2nd in the league in 50-50 duels won

don't understand the lack of appreciate for Kyle.  Really happy with him.  Of course he could be better.

I feel like people are comparing him to peak Murillo going foward who was just incredble in the attack but then again all the other stuff.

Kyle Duncan

It's safe to say that the MLSsoccer.com staff does no underrate the Red Bulls right back; he's made Team of the Week five times in the last 21 times out, with the last four coming in 2020. It's not enough recognition for Duncan, who has become an end-to-end dynamo in his third MLS season. Would it surprise you to learn that the 23-year-old has nearly matched Ruan's total of positive distance carrying the ball up field? Or that he stands second in the league in ball recoveries? Probably not if you've been watching the Big Apple bunch this term.
