* Dissolve Single Entity
* Hold PRO accountable for poor officiating
* Charter Flights
* Eliminate Leagues Cup or offer significant financial compensation
* Eliminate GAM/TAM
* Change SuperDraft to 2 rounds then allow teams that field a USL team to draft up to 4 additional players.
* Offer additional roster spots for teams with USL sides (similar to MLB 40 man roster)
* Similarly get rid of Senior, Reserve, Supplemental roster spots.
* Elminate Discovery Player and the compensation to other team if a team actually wants to and can sign the player
* DPs shouldn't be paid more than an entire teams payroll. Fix the pay structure.
* Move free agency to 25yrs old with 5yrs experience
Agree with everything except single entity and discovery players.
Single entity will allow the league to expand to smaller market cities and have these markets be competitive.
Discovey players allows teams to not get into a bidding war for a player. Howver, the name should be rebranded to player rights
The issue Armas is having is that the league adapted to the press. Teams are pumping the ball to rb's wing back position. Teams know that if they just lob into that direction they are going to get one or two good opportunities on goal. Armas needs to wake up and switch to five in the back to stop these hail mary passes.
The league also knows that rbny lost a step when they counter.lets face it, bwp is not the same this year and no one in mid had Adam's athletic ability. Sims was supposed to improve this ability.
Systems don't mean anything if the roster doesn't have the talent.
You have to spend to win. It's like that here and in every other league around the world.
Watch LAFC or Atlanta win MLS Cup this year. Neither of those teams have great academies like Red Bull or develop players of the course of several seasons. They spend to bring in talent and win titles as a result.
And what championships did LAFC win?
You cant say that rbny is lucky because of their geographic location to obtain academy players. To have a good academy, the team has to make player development a priority. Atlanta have some really good young American players that are rotting in the bench. At least rbny gives the American player a chance to do well and develop.
Folks should stop being cry babies. We have a consistent winning team. Could they do better sure but to say they haven't done anything is ridiculous. If you have been a fan of this club, you already lived through the matheus era, Cahill and marquez era, edmundo and branco era...ect ect. We dont need player drama.
I am okay with our current approach to team building. We have an identity and a consistent roster that keeps winning. History has shown that buying your way with expensive players does not guarantee success. LA Galaxy, Toronto, DC United, Montreal and past RBNY teams are prime examples.
The only thing i am annoyed abt is that we didnt find RB. The team is built to create upsets if the D can hold it together.
I think he was developing fine. I didnt view the wing as a position of need. We won the supporter shield and we are producing goals. Last season and the beginning of this season proved that we developed decent depth.
Getting Sims is a luxury and I am hoping he is a game changing player like almiron, Vela or sasha in his prime. If he isnt, then why did we loan a cheap prospect who is contributing to the first team?
I still think the win now move is to get a starter at RB. Bucky has some speed but I think its reckless to anoint him as the savior. Murillo is talented but needs to build up his confidence. It would do him good to be loaned down to rb 2.
Duncan needs more time with rb 2 and Lade's best position might be DM. I dont think he has the speed for wingback anymore
The best scenario is that rbny arranges a loan for dec 1- June1. RBNY should be paid 2m for the loan. If west ham still wants him then they should pay an additional 10m. If they dont want him, then he comes back to play in rbny.
During that time, he will get exposed to the epl and prove that he belongs. Either west ham or another team will purchase him If he performs well at the end of the loan. If long fails, we keep him in rbny.
