I have been looking around on the tubes and have not seen any updates on Guerrero's status. Does anybody know what's going on?

that blows. He was in a boot and crutches on Sunday morning at the hotel. Said he was going to hospital to get it checked out. Haven't heard since then, but he seemed to think it was not good at all.

IIRC, Wanchope spent a significant part of his life living in the US, LA to be exact. There isn't or shouldn't be a language barrier, as with Blanco and it doesn't seem to have mattered with him too much.
I'm afraid we got stuck with a guy who's legs won't allow him to do what made him famous, poach goals.
I think some of our players know they're not going to be re-signed and they just don't care, or they've been tossed into game with little if any development because we've over-relied on our veterans for far too long.
Boy, you guys write people off a bit to early. How many games has Wanchope played in now? 3 or 4? I have been more impressed with Wanchope after each game, he has plenty of skill left and he has more then enough left in him to poach goals. Now if he were an Eddie Johnson type player in the past then maybe we'd be in trouble, but Wanchope will score plenty with his head, and he sure knows how to use his feet.

That's how I felt. I was worried but I think he's improving and will be OK. Maybe he's not what he was, but I think he needs some time to get back in shape. He's not a no-name player that never accomplished anything. If he can be a solid leader in the locker room and get some points on the field I'll consider it a very good signing.

however, the players that want to be on this team better be playing 110% for the remainder of the season. if they aren't, i would expect them to be gone.

Agreed. I've said it before, and will say it again (and again and again). "Whatever happens this season, next season will be awesome. We have the right coach with the right attitude and the right #10 DP. Now we just have to fill in some other areas and take care of some other stuff and it'll be like before 2004."i'd give the whole team some slack for the rest of the season. with all these changes in ownership, to the coaching staff, to players on the field, it will take the offseason and pre-season of next year to see what will happen... i still think with the players out there we can win, and make a push to gain a playoff spot, but i'm really interested as well to see what other changes come this offseason heading into next year with JCO at the helm...

The players know their job is on the line each week. Even if we are eliminated from the playoffs, every player will be giving more than they probably ever gave under Dave just to have a fighting chance for a spot on next year's roster. This coach don't play around. He doesn't look at a player and say "Oh, he's been here for x years, he's such a nice guy, let's keep him." Pause.... gone. Anyone care to start a "Fire Folks who won't be singing "Sweet Home Chicago" next year" thread?
