2-1 final. Keeps us in first with a tad of breathing room.

North Carolina beat Tampa Bay, which puts them at 46pts along with TB.

Eastern Conference:
25 games played, unless noted
NYRBII: 50pts
North Carolina: 46pts
Tampa Bay: 46pts, 1 game in hand (49pts)
Nashville: 45pts
Indy Eleven: 43pts, 4 games in hand (55pts)
Pittsburgh: 41pts, 2 games in hand (47pts)

Have to watch the first half but started this one at halftime and here is what I missed:
Sean McSheery (!) with a first half brace coming back from injury. Swope Park saw a player sent off with two yellows in the first half. Rito added a third to make it 3-1 at half.

Jared Stroud scored his 12th goal of the season to make it 4-1.

They are playing at SKC stadium. I'm fairly confident I can fit the total attendance in my driveway, comfortably.

Omar Sowe makes his pro debut! 116th player in club history about an hour after Josh Sims became the 350th player for the first team. Comes on for McSherry.

Sowe is a beast. 71st minute and he has almost scored twice since coming on 5 minutes ago.

73rd: Sowe with another shot then picks up a yellow.

75th: Stroud off, Amarildo gets some unusual minutes. Duncan picks up a yellow.

78th: Former academy stud, Ethan Vancore-Decker comes on as the final sub for Swope Park.

Stoppage time: Amarildo gets a goal! 5-1. Jorgensen then yells at him for something rather than celebrate the guy (probably for making him look even more expendable).

2M for Jorgenson will never not be hilarious.  I get it, he's young, but does anyone see something besides him just getting released after next season?

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Sowe looked good in his debut, but he's gonna have to get used to the speed of this level and this team specifically. He's built for this level.

Rito was on fire today. Love how he plays with fury. Duncan looked decent at times, too.

Anyone care to guess which 1st teamers will be on the RB2 playoff roster?

When does that list have to be submitted?

When is the USL roster freeze [or whatever its called]?

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

1st teamers with the USL team for playoffs: Louro, Nealis, Duncan, Koffi, Mines, Bezecourt, Barlow and Jorgensen. Potentially Valot. The team has been good about not shoving a bunch of first team players onto the team in crunch time and letting the players that got them there continue to play.

Roster freeze deadline date is typically one month from the final regular season game and 30 players max.

For the folks who have been watching all season, question....

How has Rita compared to Bucky this year?

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. Rito is more dangerous in the attack and has great speed. Imagine Dane Richards as a wing back defender and always able to cross the ball across the face of the goal. Buckmaster is much more conservative going forward. Solid 1v1 defending at the USL level and gets into good positions defensively.

I think if Rito wasn't on loan, he may have got the nod over Buckmaster.
