Even better, the big countries should just ditch FIFA and create their own World Cup.

Two Thirds of the field is the same every time - those countries should form a new FIFA, name it the International Association of Socccer, and put on their own tournament. They could tell the rest of the countries in the world to form their own association with Blatter and Warner and all those guys and give them eight spots in the tournament just to be nice and to fill out the field.

The World Cup would alternate between England and a rotation of the the New World and the rest of Europe.

I'm serious about this.

Wouldn't this affect the quality of play? If you knew your country was guranteed an automatic spot every four years.

What about the qualifying process and the excitment of those tournaments? Surely a new body consisting of 22 countries would generate less revenue than one consisting of 208.

Also this new association wouldn't have the resources to tap into new and emerging markets like FIFA has thanks to its billions of dollars.

I'm with you I would like to see a new entity that has some sort of checks and balances in place but FIFA is one giant monopoly that I don't see disbanding anytime soon.

It doesn't matter how simplistic you make your point, there will be someone who misunderstands you.

I am shocked, SHOCKED.  Oh, wait, actually, I'm not.

Anyway, even if they had iron-clod, incontrovertible proof that bribery was involved in Qatar getting the World Cup, could anything actually be done about it?
