The Gold Cup is a 12-team competition held every two years that serves as North America's top international competition. If anyone is up for a summer trip to Chicago for the final, i'm thinking about getting tickets beforehand.   I don't know if we can actually beat Cuba.

Speaking of, did anyone happen to get a code for pre-sale.  I don't see that i got one from US Soccer or Concacaf but are on a bunch of lists.

Definitely a possibility to come out to Chicago for it...
I might do Baltimore, too.

The final US roster has been announced.  As expected, Donovan is on it, but he's the only G:

Yeah, the part I liked best was when Donovan was starting on his pre-PK ritual, and a Belizean (? - guy from Belize, anyway) shoved the ball in his chest and said something like, Just take the damn kick.

We've lost Omar for this weekend's game, he's headed to the Gold Cup

Nevermind!  He's playing Saturday and then hopping on a plane. Yay Omar!

I have relocated to the DC area for my job. As such I will be making the journey to Baltimore tomorrow. Anyone else going?

Donovan's set pieces are damn good today.  Is this a new thing, or is there no one on the Galaxy to be on the other end of them?

Eddie Johnson is way better than Wondolowski.  Now that the US are playing teams with some semblance of ability, he has been what he had been.

Beckerman wasn't horrible today.  Still don't like him or expect to see him in big games.  My guess is he started today to give Holden the start next time.  Would like to see Wondo back on the bench to start the next game.

Torres and Corona showed their class today.  Of course, Donovan was excellent.

Remember about 15 years ago, we'd scratch out difficult results against teams like El Salvador.  Now, we really are a class above.

By the way, I really like this Zelaya guy.  Galaxy should keep an eye on him.
