Do we have good enough players on the roster to achieve the desired results or are we really just a slight upgrade from last year's dismal roster? Lot of great comments above on our FW, MF and D stats compared with the league, but are our players on the field technically skilled enough to play the way Struber wants? Can they execute better precision passes, shoot quality shots on goal, not high or wide, and score a lot more goals? Or are we just jerking off?

The Superdraft is becoming more and more irrelevant . I commented once in the past how I can see why and respect Ernst Tanner's (Philly technical director) decision to forego selecting anyone the last 2-3 years. The talent gap and readiness between NCAA and MLS is very wide. Lot of these guys just aren't ready. Send em to USL if they're professional caliber at all. Sure you get the likes of Larin, Gressel and few others who can play and start right away. But how many players get drafted that won't see the field their rookie year or be kept after 1-2 years? Academies, free agency, international signings is how teams build their rosters IMO. Not through the draft.
I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that several players on the field/bench last night are not MLS caliber players. They were good college players, USL sure, but MLS is getting better and these guys don't seem to make the grade. Don't believe me? Even Alejandro Moreno said it on the broadcast, that the rest of the east has gotten better but we have not. Davis, Muyl, Stroud, Seagrist, Barlow, White, Tolkin, Lema. Do they add value on the field? Are they a threat to defenses? Hardly any of them put shots on goal, made the GKs work in our three group stage matches. None of these guys are game changers, impact players, threats to the opposition. Barlow and White got some goals last year but then why aren't they starting every game together without question? Yes, this team needs much better players. Time to look in mirror, be honest and make some tough decisions. Some guys are just not MLS level. Move on, sign new guys.
I found it funny and sad that the USWNT sold out RBA no problem for one game that was pretty much a glorified friendly, in March, and we haven't sold out one game in seventeen home games each year in the last few years.

Hell of a decade. Lot of changes in player personnel, coaches, front office, but we kept consistency on the field with winning, making the playoffs and Supporters Shields! We should be pleased. I know we're upset as of late, but looking back at ten years, we should be pleased.
