He was injured for almost his entire last season with us. He was very possibly done at his age, and Red Bull is an organization notorious for getting rid of players on the wrong side of 30. Was it lousy considering he was our franchise player? Absolutely. But if he wasnt willing to take a significant pay cut there was no way he was sticking around. I am glad he had a decent year on LAFC. He made Red Bulls decision look bad in hindsight, but I would say it was 50-50 that he could have done nothing last year and also proven Red Bull to be pretty shrewd.Just scrolling back to the first pages of this thread, the prevailing opinion was that it's sad to see him go, but probably the right decision for RB.
Further than that, there are several opinions saying he would for sure not start for LAFC, with a couple specifically saying he'd score 2 or 4 goals all season.

Oh I'm not disagreeing, and also don't think he would have had as good a season with us as he did with LAFC given how bad we were at creating chances. Probably best for both sides that he did leave, certainly for BWP's career anyway.

We need players that make others around them better. And I think BWP did that. Sure, he needs the other players to make him better too. It is usually called "synergy" but "symbiosis" might be a better word for it.

Did you know: BWP is still better any any forward on our current roster.
If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.
