In Topic: Redbulls / MetroStars scarf for Season Ticket Holders?

Good job by the fans voting for the Metrostars scarf.  Another message sent to the FO that we fans believe in embracing our history.

I mean they've made plenty of nods to that history over the last year. they didn't HAVE to approve this design after all.

I feel like that criticism falls flat, the constant turnover is a bigger issue going forward than acknowledging a brand they're about to outlast.

Happy New Year!

Let's just say your first theory sounds probable, and I'll leave it there for now...

Your second one however, sounds scary enough to be more on point. To be continued...

henry becoming coach would be the only saving grace in this mess.

if they announce that he's the new manager, i'll still believe they dicked petke around, but at least they had a planwith a man that already knows the roster.

as is… i cant quit this team but dammit...

This is such a bad organizational move I'm actually having a hard time believing its austria...

no really, in fact I bet MdG is gonna wake up pissed the fuck off because firing mike will make his job hell and the powers that be are gonna second guess themselves about hiring this guy...

this is ali curtis's fault. it must be… i don't care about rb as owners, but think about it, how does this make any sense from their perspective?

golden question? whats gonna make them more money, not firing the successful manager that fans like or firing the club legend and losing ticket sales?

firing petke makes shitty business sense no matter how committed they are to this team or not. I'm actually not gonna believe houllier or anybody else from up top thought of this.

this is some know it all coming in to make his mark.

could be better, could be worse

A guy who has a good relationship with Garber and the league helps us in the short term. A guy who knows the bizarre cap situation workarounds is great. Bez was good in Toronto, it's just Toronto that is terrible. A capologist will only help us.

Red Bull is dumb and de Grandpre is a mealy mouthed liar. Five year plan. Bullshit. One year contracts and a five year plan.

harping on that five year plan bit seems frivolous given how, with his role being what it is, it likely had more to do with off field matters and strategy than on, thats if its even a confirmed concept to begin with.

I mean, really he's a mealy mouthed liar? for a concept he's never been quoted on? that might not even apply to the subject at hand? for appointing a Sporting Directer on a one year deal when we have no actual clue if he is actually on a one year deal?

the guy screwed up before but I think your reaching just a bit for a chance to call him out now.

de Grandpre...

"In addition, a team source said that the revenue numbers for the Red Bulls were up across the board and the financial health of the club is at an all-time high. In addition, the renewals for season ticket are at record levels.

De Grandpre will continue to oversee the operations of the club and he will leave all sporting decisions and operations in hands of the sporting director, when he is appointed."

so he's running everything but the on field stuff… and supposedly doing a good job so far… sure…? <_<
