He was a better played than Kandji, but Hans' overuse of him killed us down the stretch in 2010. That point-blank miss in the playoffs... People remember the Cahill one in 2014, but that was much, much, much worse.

Da-da-da-da-da-da-dah! Bah-lou-chee!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I always thought he must be Backe's illegitimate son the way he always played him.

Now he can play some golf with his 'dad'

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Lives in Paramus now with his wife and kid:

"Hoda Abdulla, 31, and Mehdi Ballouchy, 37, also had family in mind when they moved to Paramus in 2018, paying $711,000 for a 1960s split-level on a cul-de-sac. Ms. Abdulla, who works in digital marketing, and Mr. Ballouchy, a professional soccer coach, had lived in several places, including Vancouver, when Mr. Ballouchy played professionally. They loved city living, but began looking to suburbia after their daughter, now 4, was born."

He's an assistant coach with NYCFC.  Also saw that Danny Cepero is goalkeeper coach for the NYCFC Academy.

When I lived in Park Slope, my pizzeria had a picture of Ballouchy posing with the workers. Always thought that was kind of cool and incredibly random. I wondered if he lived in the neighborhood, but I never ran into him. He must have been honored to share wallspace with a 2006 poster of the Italian MNT.
