If we signed that Sead guy and hadn't traded Parker, I could feel reasonably optimistic about this team.  Outside of that, there are just too many unknowns and one thing I've learned over years of being a fan, so many unknowns don't work out.  I'll be at every home game rooting, but I just don't see a team that can honestly contend for a title.

Yeah, I never mind getting guys like Harper, we just needed a no doubter on top of it all.  At least one no-doubter.

He looks really mobile from that video which is good but that's also before 2 knee surgeries?  I'm hopeful but hard to expect a lot.

I'm starting to lean towards there being a misunderstanding of the quality of MLS compared to what we have... That will prove out this season save a significant addition.

Seems to be a real market for Long right now.  And if he actually does have any shot at going to Liverpool, we can't be standing in the way.  No matter how much worse it makes us.

In a normal world, I wouldn't mind this.  But with this team, there's no reason for anyone to be confident that the team will pivot and actually sign an alternative.

Then I would question why we weren't going to re-sign him.  The guy is 27 at a position where you can remain good after 30.  If he was a forward or a winger who's game was predicated on speed then I would understand.

 

It is what it is, but I disagree with the move.  I'm hopeful Reyes is good for sure.

I could only buy in if this was about not wanting to allocate so much money to the CB position but it's not like there's any reason to believe we'll put that money anywhere else. And throw in Long missing games, I'd actually move him first.

Yep, good news.  Well, hopefully good news.

 

His USL numbers are great. His MLS numbers are meh. 21 matches, 3 assists. Lively, yes. Productive, not so much. Perhaps a better finisher like BWP could have latched onto his crosses.

I don't even think it's a perhaps.  His chance creation was right there with Kaku and it's not like he played a million minutes.  Stroud is a loss.  I would have been fine with them taking any other player but this one hurts the team.

The only player I'd be annoyed at losing is Stroud.  The rest are fine to lose.

After watching this press conference, I'm not worried at all about Thelwell being aggressive to get players.  He's basically saying matter-of-factly that there will be every intention on bringing in multiple players. That will include spending.

 

 

Also worth saying that we are in really good hands with Thelwell. Feels similar to Jesse where you just kind of knew you were in good hands. 

Too bad with him.  Had some ability but seemed okay just being a guy out there, didn't impose his will to really do some good things.

Yep, this is Carnells ship for this season. He's earned it.

I'm good with this lineup.  2 of our best players aren't starting in Yearwood and Kaku but have to figure they come off the bench.
