Wow! Great entertainment. Good guys win, evil guys lose. The game was the type of game you would expect to see in a Hollywood script. As usual in a tight game, getting the calls helped a lot. But that blindside tackle showed how dangerous that sport is.
That's funny you should say that. Lately when I get asked about how I think a big NFL game is going to go, my first reaction is 'whatever the script says.'
Philly fans bring- a special type of toxic, obnoxious hatefulness, but Boston sports fans are insufferable. I know many, and their social media sour grapes this week are like fine wine to me. Great time to bring up what a bunch of cheaters the pats are, and laugh at the ensuing freakout.
I get irritated living in CT that they presume to call themselves New England, and assume that CT is their territory. In Southern CT there were no Patriots fans and only a handful of Sox fans (mostly Yankee haters, TBH.) I live 10 minutes from the MA border now, and Pats fans are still not a majority. And no one gives a shit about the Revs. I've seen more boy city crap than Revs in 10 years up here.
I still can't get a good explanation of why Goodell destroyed the spygate tapes, while giving the Pats the maximum fine. I don't even think its tinfoil hat territory to assume there was some evidence of game fixing/scripting there that couldn't see the light of day. (OK, maybe moderate tinfoil, but show me a Pats victory where they didn't get a timely call from the refs and/or the opposing coach made a decision that goes against every rule of basic football coaching. And I know they lost this game, but they kept it close, etc. They can't win them all and maintain plausible deniability.)
