Focusing on bringing in speculative signings from the Panamanian league is fine with you have one of the best teams in the league. It is not fine when the majority of your starting 11 would be average players in the USL. It did not really matter whether Murillo panned out or not to the immediate fortunes of the team when he was signed.
Currently, the team is in dire need of upgrades through out the team so signings like Monzon do not and should not excite the fans. This is especially true after recent signings of guys like Egbo, Pendant, Harper, Yearwood, etc.
Eternal optimist that I am, I can imagine a Reyes/Monzon central paring being dominant and really entertaining.
Sadly, I was able to envision Fabio and Klimala that way, too. Fabio was saying all the right things, working really hard, serving up assists and due to start scoring a ton of goals, while Klimala was a "big money" guy you had to think was at least better than average for MLS. Then reality set it.
