This is the first season where the WTC path has been closed on the weekends.

Yeah. Results aside, the Path situation makes it a rough trip on weekends.

The Path was the same way a few years ago. I think it was the same sandy/signal upgrade excuse. Not sure how it didnt get solved the first time

That was the 33rd Street line. This is the WTC line, which also happens to be more disruptive for getting to RBA.

Atlanta this weekend should draw a decent crowd all things considered.  But the more I read up on this academy situation, the more concerned I'm getting.  I'm not sure if it's all Hamlett or what, but you'd think Metro would be the first choice for local kids given how much time and effort we've poured into this academy and yet it seems to be coming apart at the seams.

We've lost a ton of coaches and more than a few players in our backyard.

I always just bought into the "best academy in MLS" thing until I saw a reference here to the Uxx Nat Team team rosters, and how few are from our academies.   Eye opening.

definitely concerning especially compared to Dallas and Seattle.  I think Dallas had like 8 HG in their roster this weekend.

USYNT rosters we should be dominating but have ~ 1 representative.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

If the soda people don't even care about developing players anymore than the idea that we are nothing more to them than a walking billboard is something that can no longer be seriously argued against.

I dont think its that they dont care about developing talent, but that their Academy now has real strong competition in NYCFC.

# of Usmnt youth players could be misleading. Tab Ramos and other youth coaches selected metzger over Davis multiple times. Davis plays in mls... metger is in USL or out of contract.

Rbny developed roughly 16 guys who played in academy or reserves. Many of those guys played on a supporters shield team.

Uh huh... one day, all we are is a feeder team providing inexpensive talent to the senior clubs... the next day they don't care at all abot developing players...

The occasional misjudgement will happen, but we are very, very under-represented.   Very very.

The Tab/Davis/Metzger likely had a personal element to it.  No coincidence that they are all basically neighbors.  Knowing about families the little bit I do, I can easily see the Metzgers sucking up to Prince Ramos, and the Davis contingent having nothing of it.

I agree on what you said. I just dont think the usmnt have the best system to judge youth players in this country. In some cases, some youth get called up because of their connections instead of merit.

I wouldnt get too nervous since we are consistantly producing usmnt players and MLS players.

I think our two big gems comming through our system is Fernandez and mines.

However, I am concerned that we have no one managing the pipeline. I wonder if they want tab Ramos to be the next youth director? I dont understand why the vacancy of youth director is taking soo long to fill.
