#1391183 If they fire Struber, who do you want?

Posted by MetroFanatic on Today, 07:07 PM

His budget with the Metrostars was not tiny compared to the rest of the league.

Ummm... it was equal. MLS was counting every dollar back then. In fact, he was forced to trade Ricardo Clark to be allowed to sign Youri Djorkaeff.

Struber is really outcoaching Neville. Maybe that's what he needs to succeed in MLS, for other teams to hire English coaches.

If Struber finds a way to blow this game, he should be fired the second it's over.

Omir is now our all-time leading scorer against (Inter) Miami.

Omir + Carmona? He really is throwing shit at the wall at this point.

His record was .500 in both those stops. That said, a .500 would be nice right now

At Chivas, Bob took over probably the worst team in MLS history and led then to the playoffs the very next year. We can use some of that now.

The team he built were first in the West the following year.

Remember when there were all these garbage MLS reserve teams in the USL that we used to destroy week after week? A bunch of those just folded.

We are that now.

Norm Macdonald died today. Who cares about this stupid team.

You know what? He's improved greatly. He cost us points earlier this season, but he doesn't suck. Can't say that about most of his teammates.

This team has sucked all the joy out of me. They score, and... whatever.

I remember three years ago that every game was such a joy. Even anticipation... not every game would be an asskicking, but you knew the team would show up, play well, and probably win.

Thanks, Red Bull.

#1390588 Struber-ball

I'm starting to wonder if we have an accountability problem with Struber and the team's flailing attack... It's never the approach, always the players who don't want it enough.

6/27 0-0 Draw @ Atlanta "I think maybe in the end we lack some of the determination and desire to score"

7/8 1-1 Draw v Philly "I didn’t see the hunger to get the second goal. After the first goal, I saw the team feeling like ‘oh I hope we win’ rather than keep fighting"

7/21 1-1 Draw @ Toronto "We expected to win this game and should have won this game, but in the end I don’t see the hunger for goals"

7/25 0-1 Loss @ DC "I think in some of the personal battles we are not ready and we don’t have, again, the right energy to score goals"

8/4 0-0 Draw v Cincinnati "We create so many chances but we don’t have that missing link to score. We are maybe missing some of the hunger and desire to score"

8/28 0-1 Loss v Chicago "In the end we are not hungry enough to create enough chances. We’re again missing that killing spirit in the box."

9/11 1-1 Draw v DC "I think in the end the issues in the final third are not the shape but the desire. We need players with more desire to make sprints into the box to create danger and I think this was missing for me today."

Wow, fantastic compilation. Kinda like when he was at Barnsley and bitched he didn't have good strikers. Then he left, they got good strikers...

Who knows if he is MLS ready, but when our first (and last) striker option of the bench is "Barlow", I would like to try anything else.
