Will be joining American Outlaws in San Francisco for this one.  Would have been delicious to see the US beat Mexico in the final, but less likely to have to deal with irate assholes on the road playing Panama.  Enjoy, fellas.

I thought the game was in Chicago.

I definitely would like to see Diskerud and Holden in the midfield.  Thinking its going to be Beckerman.

Think Blas Perez is going to test Goodsen.  Don't think Klinsman is going to go with Omar in the final.  Nor should he.

Hope we've seen the last of Brek Shit and Wondo.

Any recommendations for a good, kid friendly soccer friendly sports pub in San Francisco?

You guys are high if you don't realize how much more possession in the attacking third the team enjoys when Beckerman is on the field.

We've seen Holden and Mix on the field together and they struggled.

Say no to dual #8's.  It's the American way.

I guarantee Blas Perez will own Clarence Badsen if he starts.  He's sucks at man marking and is weaksauce in the box.

Omar has kept Perez in check before... it would be a mistake to not use him in the final.

I think Klinsi will overlook Goodsen's foibles on the defensive end because he values his distribution. And, we've survived/kicked butt this far.

The US's attack has meant Beckerman has to do less defending.  That's a good thing.  He often gets beaten 1v1 and makes dumb decisions like going to ground too easily.  That hasn't been an issue this tournament, and I do see him being effective in possession.  As for Badsen, think Klinsman has to go with the guys his been going with in the back.  You can't just stick in a center back into a unit and expect it to click.  Besler integrated well, but Omar hasn't been sharp with the Gs.  Starting him is too much of a crap shoot.

Random Thoughts:

1. Brek Shea has the smarts and the athleticism to get himself in scoring position, but has difficulty finishing.

2. I thought for sure he was going to trip over the ball when had that wide open shot.  At least he managed to keep control of the ball.

3. Heather Mitts is not only hot, but she's smart and well spoeken as well.

4. My period of being happy with the way the US played is over.

5. We kept posession of the ball very well, but only created 3 scoring opportunities and only scored on 1 of them.

6. Side Show Bob had the best game I've ever seen him play.  He won lots of 50/50 balls and distributed the ball quickly and cleanly.

7. Landon seemed to disappear for much of the match, but then that's exactly what Panama was trying to do.

8. Panama played very well, but the US still dominated most of the match.  I was surprised they didn't have their keeper go forward in the waning minutes of the match.

Side Show Bob has 1 good game, and suddenly you knew he was a good player all along.

Meh.

Beckerman was MotM for me. I thought Landon touched that ball ever so slightly. Of course, Brek Shea. Tough to argue being in the right spot. Good to see Omar contribute some. Jürgen is definitely growing on me.

Why is the Twitter saying Landon won't start in Costa Rica but will be on bench?

Good times at B&D for game.

Meh.

Take it easy there cochese.  I never wrote anything about knowing all along.

However, I did post that comment before the final so yeah...

In my opinion, throughout this tournament he was the best option when paired with either Mixx or Holden in the central midfield.  That was pretty clear in my view, but perhaps you saw it differently.

Is he the next starting USMNT defensive midfielder?  Probably not, but the dude had a good tournament and I'm giving credit where credit is due.

These boards have gotten a little stale... Just trying to liven it up a little.  Next time  I will make sure the sarcasm is more obvious.

Great run for the USMNT for sure. Feels like the boys in the player pool are all drinking the very tasty kool aid...so much so that some dude playing on Jozy's team chose team USA over Iceland...

What do you mean?  I love that shit.  In fact, that's was I miss most about this place... space or whatever.

I got it dude... I was just firing back in a passive aggresive non-descript sort of way...

VIVA BECKERMAN!

Maybe after Jurgen Klinsman is done being head coach of the USA, we can get this guy to lead the USA to Victory:

Ha... funny you should mention that guy.

Remember the Lalas vetoed trade of Vagenas + a draft pick for Kyle Beckerman?

Good times.
