REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – March 8, 2012 -- EA SPORTS™ today predicted that defending champion LA Galaxy will continue its dominance over MLS this year, completing a record-setting regular season and winning the MLS Supporters’ Shield for the third straight year. No team has ever finished first three consecutive MLS seasons but EA SPORTS declared LA Galaxy the winner of the upcoming 2012 MLS regular season using FIFA Soccer 12 on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system.
EA simulated the entire 2012 MLS regular season, testing all 19 clubs under the same conditions they will face in the months ahead to determine that the LA Galaxy will finish first overall in the 34-game regular season with a league record 75 points, posting a 22-9-3 win-draw-loss record. Three losses would set an MLS record for fewest losses in a season.
EA SPORTS FIFA Soccer 12 also predicted that Galaxy striker Robbie Keane will win the 2012 Budweiser Golden Boot, awarded to the top goal scorer at the end of the regular season. EA SPORTS has predicted Keane will score 19 goals this season.
EA SPORTS has a proven track record of correctly predicting winners using its game engines across all of its simulation sports franchises. EA SPORTS correctly determined that the LA Galaxy would capture the 2011 MLS Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup 2011. The FIFA Soccer game engine also correctly predicted that Spain would win the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. The Madden NFL franchise has correctly predicted seven of the past nine Super Bowl champions.
The simulation was conducted using team rosters as of March 1.

Last year they predicted LA would get 19 points & JPA would score 13 goals. http://www.ea.com/news/mls-season-sim
I Ramble and Twitter and waste a lot of time on Facebook.

Seattle finishes 4th with only 14 wins?
I'd make for a beautiful utopia
But I somehow doubt it.

Overall, the prediction of the standings isn't too terrible. I think it relies to heavily on individual players in the simulation.
New York has big problems at the back, and with Backe. I can't see them finishing at the top of the east.
Anyone also notice the prediction they made putting Nkufo at 15 goals? Hilarious. I think Landon will score less than they say, and that Buddle may finally win the golden boot.

so, since the 2012 winter roster update had way too many mistakes (missing or cut players, wrong jersey #) I decided to re-join EA's community research team.
Hoping we'll have accurate rosters for the G's from now on again.
Now if EA only would release a MLS roster update midway during the MLS season... or even better include them in the Live thing they got going on with a couple of leagues and weekly updates.
Currently we get the annual FIFA version in the fall (if you buy the new game) just a couple of weeks before MLS Cup, then the winter roster update at the end of February (before MLS preseason concludes).

Can we assume they came up with us giving up only 21 goals all season before Omar's ACL blew up?
