Holy fucking hat tricks - Magee with the triple badassitude!

Trivia question:  How many players have recorded a shutout and a hat-trick for the same team?

And Keane with pretty much the same move as Magee's first goal makes it 4-0!

McBean in for Magee in the 82nd minute.  Also, Garcia in for Sarvas.

Well, this worked out well.  LARS's pregame was epic, and Squad single handedly made 2 of the 4 goals occur.  I'm not sure how, but I'm convinced.

Very solid. Worked well to balance the midfield on both the attacking end and the defensive end. Both worked hard to get behind the ball on recovering runs and were equally in good position to get involved in the offense.

DOMINANT...that's all I can say! Landon who?  :P

Don't want to ruffle any feathers here but, if JK doesn't give Magee a SERIOUS look, I'll be pissed!

Cudicini didn't have much to do...thanks to our defense...but did have a great save on a free kick, though his distributing needs some work but sure it will come, with time  :)

GREAT start to the "Three-peat & Drive for Five" season, boys  ;)

RObbie Keane says Magee is world class. His finishing definitely was today. That first goal was an incredibly difficult hit, and the third one may have been harder to do.

...ooooh ooooooooh we are the riot squad...

''It was cool,'' Magee said. ''The hat trick was cool, the win was cool, and the best part of the day was getting the rings.''

  • Without a doubt, this was one of the most intelligent passing games I've seen from LA Galaxy in years.
  • Magee is oozing confidence. His spacial awareness and positioning really was world class yesterday. I hope it continues.
  • The team seems hungry and well balanced.
  • Keane and Landon upfront, Magee on the right instead of Franklin, who drops to right back while AJ shifts back to center and puts Leonardo on the bench. That's my prediction for when Landon returns. I'm unsure about Franklin as a midfielder. He had some good moves yesterday and put in a solid performance, but the Dunivant-DeLa Garza-Gonzales-Franklin back line is more valuable in my opinion.
  • Cudicini makes me nervous when the ball is at his feet.
  • Colin Clark looks promising. He didn't do a whole lot, but did have a couple of intricate dibbling runs and some good passes, but mostly his work off the ball was the best part of his game, creating space and pulling Chicago out of position.
  • Chicago LOL
  • Chivas LOL

Great to open another season in 138.  Guys, don't ever forget how awesome it is to have 100's of people with whom you can share your passion for your team.  Plus Jamesey, with whom I got to share the first half.  And Tracer - we were sitting together when Magee scored goals 2 and 3 and I commented that we may need to sit together whenever the G's need a goal.

Mike Magee is a solid professional, and it was great to see the years of honing his craft pay off yesterday, with both the hattrick and the second Championship ring.

I was afraid that Bruce would have to sub Sarvas at the half after he ran so much.  Not having to caddy for Beckham gave him wings.  When he settled down a little more in the second half he was great.

Clark will be OK, once he settles and looks for his own play.  He was so desperate to play in the other players that he passed up several good opportunities.  Keane was trying to bring him into the play, and I take that as a good sign.

Why can Sean hit decent crosses when he plays right back and only terrible crosses when he's in midfield?

In the first thirty minutes, I counted seven times that Chicago successfully attacked through Leonardo.  I'm starting to believe that Leonardo is being imposed on the G's by MLS to keep things close.

Transitive Property says we'll beat Chivas 12-0 or something.

Who's going to Costa Rica this week?

Oh, can I suggest we require a Breathalyzer test before climbing into the capo box?  (i.e. blow .15 and you have to sit down)

I think many of us were frightened for our capos yesterday.  It's a long, hard fall out of that box.

And then there was this:

Jamesey: Abes has notes on his hand

Bones: You're supposed to have your set list taped to the floor by your feet

Jamesey (taps chest): That's supposed to come from your heart!

Edit: Only $27.50!
