Carr available for selection for July 4th match against Colorado Rapids
CHICAGO, IL (July 2, 2009) – The Chicago Fire today announced that forward Calen Carr has been removed from the team’s disabled list and has returned to the Fire’s 24 man roster. Carr will be available for selection this week as the Fire travel to Colorado to face the Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday, July 4 (8 p.m. CT).
Carr suffered the season ending knee injury in July of 2008 during a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against D.C. United and has been on the Fire’s disabled list since the beginning of the 2009 season. Carr has appeared in 58 league matches since joining the Fire in 2006, scoring six goals in 1910 minutes.
“Calen has always contributed on the field with the Fire and we’re pleased to have him back on the roster,” said Fire technical Director, Frank Klopas.

I hope for the best for Calen. As a player who relies so much on his speed, I hope this knee injury has diminshed his pace or acceleration.

Carr my least favorite Fire player. Glad he's health though and he's over his injury.

Glad he's back healthy. How long until he starts upfront with McBride? DH always liked him far too much. I expect very soon.

I'm really glad to have him back. Looking forward to having that much speed on the field. Now, I wonder if he's learned to take shots and finish in his downtime?
