Last year, they failed.

For me, going from Supporters Shieild to dead middle of MLS is a major fail.

Everyone has different perspectives though.

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. I doubt that even Hamlett's wife would give him this much benefit of the doubt.

Change is not always a good thing. If you want an example just look at the knicks.

Sure, hamlett had a few misses but he also made a few hits. He doesnt have to hit a home run in the transfer market. The best teams are built from within

Knocked out in open cup in the first round we entered and up a man for a long time and couldn't win at "home"(moved our home field advantage from RBA to montclair to save money)

Didn't qualify for champions league

Barely made the playoffs and then blew a 2-0 lead after halftime in the only playoff game.

I don't know how you don't call last season a failure.

Because most of the teams in mls had it worse

We finished dead middle of the MLS.

The season before we finished first in the regular season.

Expectation was to add the one piece to win MLS Cup.

Also add in our front office giving up on figuring out ways to sell tickets and just tarping a bunch of sections instead.

We failed on and off the field last season.

Failing is not making the playoffs

That is a ridiculously low bar for an ownership with these resources.

In what world is that true? Certainly not anywhere in soccer, I can say that confidently.

So your upset because rbny made the playoffs?

Are you not a fan of Sims? he was that one piece you made reference too.

It sucks that rbny lost but they lost their 2 best players to injury against the union.

Orlando spent a lot of resources but have yet made the playoffs. Maybe you should support them.

Im not 100% of the point youre trying to make. So, Im going to tread lightly in case Im not following your thought process.

This is my point.....

Supporters Shield team thats looking for the one piece to put them over the top to MLS Cup.

Taking that team the next season to dead middle of the standings. Thats a significant drop.

No effective moves that offseason or this offseason.

That is extremely poor by anyones standards.

Are you thinking that making the play offs makes last season a success?

Im not trying to be condescending, Im just trying to understand your thinking.

Maybe you should watch more soccer. Most of the teams below have developed their core players from within.

Ajax
Anderlecht
Feyenord
Manchester united... "class of 92"
Sporting lisboa
Real madrid
Barcelona
Santos
Athletic Bilbao
