On another note isn't it great to have our own thread?

It's even better than my Newcastle thread, which is really, really depressing.

I'll definitely be out at Mar Vista Park at 3:00 Saturday afternoon. Then going to Joxer Daly's as usual.

Anyone who just want to come out for beers is welcome to. I'll be there about a half hour after it gets dark.

We had yet another good turnout yesterday - probably had 20 people out there, including a few chicks.

I scored a bitching goal off of a left footed volley.

We play in the outfield of the baseball fields - not on the soccer field, as it is usually booked and has no lights.

Skill and fitness level vary greatly. There are a few players who have really good skills and are really fit. Then there are some other players who don't/aren't.

In other words - it's your typical pickup game in the park. I guy named Marc took my email address down last night, so apparently, they do have some organization.

Game on at 3:00 Saturday and we play until it gets dark, then we go to Joxers.

It's best to bring a white shirt and a dark shirt, but if you forget - it's no big deal.

I always sport my "FC Lot 13" jerseys with the sexy green sash.

I'll be out there tomorrow at 3:00 as usual.

We had a pretty intense game last weekend, as we essentially scrimmaged another team that just happened to be out at the park for a practice.

How many people are showing up?

It's been between 16 and 20 on a consistent basis for the last 2 months.

We play with 4 foot by 3 foot portable goals, so we just adjust the size of the field according to the number of players.

I show up for Thursday for the first time in 2 months, and it's the first time they had the lights turned off on them in 2 months - since the last time I was there.

Oh well. I'll just stick to Saturday's at 3:00 at Mar Vista park from now on.

JohnnyLaw made his Mar Vista Soccer club debut today.

For someone who showed up in brand new boots claiming he hasn't played in 5 years, he sure as hell did get back in the groove quickly.

That's far too kind Double D. I had a good time, we need more drinks afterwards to heal the pain!

I'm down for tomorrow - 2/16/2008, but I'm not going to get there until 3:30, as people are showing up later and later as the days get longer.

Going to Joxer Daly's afterwards is on hold for a while.
