In the less glamorous old days of a one-hundred-person section spanish songs and their translations sustained us and made us unique among rivals, but I guess those days are done. 3 songs and jingoism are the order of the day. Nothing could deviate more from our roots. Soy del Metro

Get on the perch

"Onionsack- the soccer equivalent of a Jehovah's Witness"

                                                       -Thoward18

Now it's the RedBulls fans. they may be even louder than the DC guys who, for reasons beyond imagining, had 50 seats saved for them up front.

Philadelphia: I love you guys, really, but you're getting schooled.

The noise in here is deafening.

Get on the perch

Giants stadium didn't have any perch and it was a lot more fun in 101 back then.

I don't criticize the guys on the perch, theyre putting in the work, I criticize the changing philosophy of ESC and giving into people for no cooperation in return. Keep singing a hack song about lining up people and shooting them while they roll their eyes and stay silent during Spanish songs that we've been during forever

Beats singing Viking Army songs to me.  On the loop.  For almost two years.

"you're not singing over there.."

Nope...that was us.  What's worse, it was being chanted before anyone had scored.  Embarrassing.

I agree with mikev about not criticizing the guys on the perch. I don't think a criticism of the current state of the south ward is necessarily a shot at them. At times they just don't have a lot to work with whether its people that may have had too much to drink and want to lead their own chants, a seemingly increasing number of tourists, or people simply refusing to participate. We can't cater to these people and dumb it down for them. We have enough songs/chants in our arsenal that we shouldn't be repeating as many songs as we are. If they dont want to participate or bother to learn the other songs then so be it we can still be plenty loud just look at the open cup games where we dont have the same numbers but can still sound great.

I don't even sit in 101. The first thing I did after going to a couple of games was google the songs/chants we did/try and listen hard during the game to learn them. I even asked a friend in viking army if there was a list of lyrics or songs. Maybe thats the way to go? Hand out flyers with the songs and lyrics during the match?
