Props to Brent for posting about this earlier today. JuanPi remains a true professional who gave us magic and effort throughout his tenure.

It would be great to bring him back to the franchise to coach the forwards at the academy and first-team levels.

It sounds like he is going into some sort of front office role with Atletico Nacional after retirement.

I know it's weird, but the JPA memory that sticks out most in mind mind was when he scored a ridiculous goal for Chivas USA, then pushed all his teammates away because he refused to celebrate a goal in RBA while in a visiting jersey. Quite possibly the classiest player to ever put on a Metro uniform.

Played on turf no matter how much it hurt. And he was hurting.

Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Or indeed with wit to understand me?

Played on turf no matter how much it hurt. And he was hurting.

Which was detrimental to his health and his career. I think the greater injustice was that we never had a midfield that could provide the service a striker of his caliber required; nor a strike partner (save Jozy) that he could play off of. The FO needs to move forward and sign DPs who fit our system as opposed to getting DPs and trying to find complimentary players later.

Still, he provided more than his share of moments and magic. Not to mention that leaping Zorro slash, goal celebration.

And no mention of ChivasUSA in his tweet either!

he didn't include the official twitter acct for the Galaxy, but gave credit/respect to LA as a city for both its clubs, I assume.

One of many memories for JPA was my first day on the perch in front of 101, when he scored the free kick to beat Houston just before WC 2010.

props to Demosthenes for recording it:

After that goal, he ran to the bench and Hans expected a hug, but Angel runs right past him to hug, I believe, ABMOD.

My favorite ever Metro. I'm glad he got to finish out his career with more success in Colombia.

Probably the best match I've ever been to. 90 minutes of WTF defense, but an amazing game. Amazing.

And if people wonder why some old greybeards are salty to the new kids....I had to spend 10 years with people like Max Bretos & Christopher Sullivan calling games in Standard Def. Fuck you lucky bastards and your 1080p HD production values and EPL trained announcers. Dicks don't know how lucky you are.

:)
