2008 LARS Champions League
I have access and permission to do this, here are your choices: We can do it anyone of the dates below or all 3, rain or shine....up to all you.

Saturday Dec 20th - Sunday Dec 21st
Saturday Dec 27th - Sunday Dec 28th
Saturday Jan 3rd – Sunday Jan 4th

Games to be played at “La Bombonera” (students call it that) located at 7477 Kester Ave Van Nuys, CA 91405. Due to construction on campus the only way to enter the field is on Noble Ave, between Saticoy St and Valerio St refer to map below.
La Bombonera at Fulton College Prep

What you get for your money:
- Restrooms
- Water/possibly Gatorade in coolers.
- Tents for teams
- Balls and other equipment
- Full size goals and nets/ corner flags
- Chalked fields
- Referees

If you chose to donate money towards the schools soccer program, (for uniforms) I will get the students to do all the work so all you have to do is show up, play and have a good time…they will do all the set up, get waters and clean up after.
Unfortunately there are no pubs walking distance, there is however a really good Argentinean place you can pick up some empanadas. In order to drink after the games we have the following options all of which we have to drive, however we can caravan it.

Pubs in order of proximity to the school:
http://www.irelands32pub.com/ Not a bad place.
http://www.robinhoodpub.net/ It’s almost quite literally across the street from Irelands32's however it’s not as good, more of a restaurant.
http://www.thefoxandhounds.com/ This you all know…my personal choice.

TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES:
If you guys like I can arrange for the HS team to play in order to even teams out.

Teams:
1 - B&G FC
2 - S&P FC
3 - VSU FC
4 - ???

Rules:
1) 11 v 11
2) Unlimited subs, to be made on when ball is out of bounds.
3) 30 minute halves 5 minute breaks
4) Teams plays each other once
5) 15 player roster (Maximum of 18) to be submitted on boards for all to see. Must be RS members only…no ringers!!
6) FIFA Rules (offsides, etc.,)
7) $150.00 per team (or more if you like) winner takes the pot.

Point System:
6 points for a win
3 points for a tie
0 points for a loss
1 point for a shut-out
1 point for each goal scored in excess of opponent's score (i.e., differential) up to 3.

Deductions
-4 for each red card/sent off
-1 for each yellow card

Tie Breaker:
In case of a tie after pool play, tie breakers will be used to determine winner:
1) head to head
2) fewest goals allowed
3) most wins
4) shots from the mark

I have a problen with rule number five and maybe also B&G might have the same issue. How can you even verify membership? and also can i sugest twenty dollars per person and half of all proceeds go to your soccer program? Saturday Dec 27th - Sunday Dec 28th works for me and my team! Let me just let you know that at least half of my team stands with the riot squad but does not post on these boards and twigg can vouch for me on that one.

I agree. That would knock out about 4 of our players already. S&P would have problems also.

I push for Jan. 3rd or 4th.

My only concern is that each group fields players that normally show up to play in their respective team, i don't really think it matters if they are on the boards or not, I just don't think it would be fair for Manwich to show up with JAC United and manhandle all the teams playing.

Why not play both, Saturday Dec 27th - Sunday Dec 28th and Saturday Jan 3rd – Sunday Jan 4th. Think of it as Confederations and World Cup.

I'm guessing we are going to have 4 teams play? B&G, S&P, VSUFC and W&M? In terms of money, yeah the school does need uniforms, they have the same ones from 3 years ago and they are ghetto to the max, however I do understand if this is a problem for all you since the current state of the economy is pretty bad. Also it just occurred to me that it would be a nice gesture and would mean a great deal to me have this annually and name it the Jair De Jesus Cup, Tournament, Classic, whatever..... proceeds (if any) going to whatever charity you guys want.

Thoughts?

You have a point! Manwich leave the pros at home! as far those dates ill see if we can make both. For those who can afford it should pay $20 and for those who cant $10. The Jair de Jesus Championship espectacular! would be an awesome name!

Thoughts?

Since you have the field for that many dates, we could do a single round robin tournament:

Week 1: B&G v VSU
Week 1: S&P v Team 4

Week 2: VSU v Team 4
Week 2: B&G v S&P

Week 3: Team 4 v B&G
Week 3: VSU v S&P

That's a whole lot of driving up to the Valley though - Especially for the S&P players coming from Long Beach.

Personally, I'd prefer to do this on any Saturday, so I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

BPFC - When do you find out if B&G are playing Jan 3?

I just threw those dates out, but really I have access to the school all year long.

We could also do a futsal tournament in the gym on hardwood floor. Split every team into A and B totaling 8 teams and games can be 15 /20 minutes each half. The field itself doesn't have lights so if we can do this all day long going into the night.

or

One week we can have a full field tournament and the next a futsal tourney, really up to you guys.....I feel confident saying VSUFC is up for all the options above. B&G, S&P figure out what you guys want.

Essentially all you have to do is show up, Ill create a schedule, have refs, everything....all you have to do is show up. The only thing you guys need to worry about is showing up with a team.
