I've been searching for another job for a few months now, but to no avail. Currently I am an Assistant Media Buyer (National Radio department) for an advertising/financial company in Rockland County.

I am hoping to move into the digital/interactive industry as that is where media is going and want to move into the industry sooner rather than later.

I was wondering if any of you currently work in media/advertising and would be able to give share some advice.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

What do you do currently?

Interactive ad agencies are always hiring media people... find a recruiter in the city. Check craigslist/monster, when the ad says "our client is looking for..." that's a recruiter. Just call and give them your resume. They're middle-men scum, but they will get you a job.

Since the beginning...

When I was taking my summer off, I posted my resume on hot jobs and law jobs.com and places like that and found the job of my dreams!

Now it's the RedBulls fans. they may be even louder than the DC guys who, for reasons beyond imagining, had 50 seats saved for them up front.

Philadelphia: I love you guys, really, but you're getting schooled.

The noise in here is deafening.

i'm not even looking yet but my previous experiences in job hunting found that nj.com is solid, craigslist is hit and miss, and hotjobs, monster etc are bullshit.

It seems Philly fans have signed up on metrofanatic to vote for themselves (in 'What team do you hate more?') . No real fan of this team would vote anything other than DC.

I guess it depends if you have any qualities worth a shit. I've gotten jobs from Craigslist. I get calls from my resume on Monster about once a week (even though I haven't updated it in years).

Since the beginning...

Hot jobs?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I last updated my while in undergrad and got calls years after I had graduated. I would have actually considered one if I was still living in New York.

I guess it depends on the field. Some of the bigger companies I worked at were all over monster for their feeder jobs.
