Bring over Bobby Wood. He is rotting on the bench in Germany. Didnt even get a chance to get called up for the US NT for Gold Cup. Time for change.

Is the only source claiming these vague rumors "The Cooligans", whoever the hell they are? Sounds like how the Henry rumors started

Given BWP's health, age and salary I cannot imagine many teams giving up much for him.

As someone said above, this rumor is not particularly well-sourced.  And I think the effects on the locker room of this being done mid-season would be terrible.  It's not part of the club's M.O.

I do expect, however, that this is likely BWP's last season with us.  It is totally part of this club's M.O. to unceremoniously get rid of players in the off-season.

i can see BWP transitioning to a coaching / staff role after this season.  it would allow him to retire as a red bull. can you imagine the shitshow if your jersey # was retired, and then you got traded the next season??

Well if he is going out, I hope he goes out as a Red Bull and goes out in style (ala Abby Wambach).

Why yes I can imagine that - see town hall circa 2015,,,,

I don't believe this.  Transmarkt lists him as 1.25M but I really don't see him worth that much. He is a proven scorer in the league but only with NYRB.  (he is no Kei Kamara).

I think he finishs as NYRB player and then becomes a coach for us.

BWP return to form will be the mid season DP signing we are all clammering for.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

I don't really see it either, but if I strain, I can imagine a club having trouble scoring goals (Cincinnati comes to mind first) putting in an offer.

This doesn't really make sense for anyone involved.

Red Bulls are not in any roster or cap trouble. They shouldn't be desperate to have his salary off the books, and we have an open DP spot if the team decides to spend something over the summer.

Since the Red Bulls aren't desperate, they shouldn't be looking to give him away for a bag of balls like they did with Kljestan. And I can't imagine many teams are looking to give up much for a guy BWP's age.

And while I don't know BWP personally, you get the sense that once he feels he's passed playing age he'll just retire instead of squeeze out another season at a lower table team.

I had heard this during the game on Sunday.
Supposedly BWP asked for a contract extension,
which was denied, then asked for a trade.
There may have been some interest,
but RB may want a big transfer fee.
Our record lately without him has been good.
Can we actually win anything without him?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

He should stay with the club but it should be up to him. He has done so much for the club that it would be okay to over pay him. If he wants out, then he should be traded or sold.

However, he would be an upgrade in rsl, dal, hou, van, por, ne, clb, cin, nyc, and mtl.

I dont think a team outside of MLS (maybe a a rich middle eastern team) would pay a transfer for BWP.

He could probably fetch some Allocation money in a trade but like other ppl said, were not cap strapped and have one DP slot free.

Were also not known to make major summer signings either.

5 year plan
