Rafa's goal made the Yahoo front page. Maybe MLS is finally relevant in the mainstream..

I just saw that too.

i still think mendes could have done more to cut off the angle and put more pressure on dero. idk if he was off-balance or what, but he could have done more to prevent dero from getting the shot off in the first place for bouna to flop.

Totally agree. He dives in with his left as DeRo puts a touch by him, giving him the space to put the ball away. If he had stayed square and kept himself between him and the goal, DeRo never gets that shot off.
35th minute- Red Bulls fans back on the East Coast should know that the 50 Red Bulls fans are making more noise than the rest of the stadium right now.

"I can't believe you guys sing the whole game," -- DC security guard, who apparently isn't used to that from supporters...

Mendes sent him wide for a tougher angle. I have a problem when a GK lets a ball go between his legs at any angle never mind a bad one. I thkink Mendes forced him wide and delayed the shot.

To me that goal is 100% on Bouna. Mendes maybe could have played him better as others state. Yet it wasn't like Mendes completely flubbed it and sent DeRo in wide open. He pushed him to a wide angle, and my thought at that moment was danger averted.

Bouna to me is a shitshow in goal. On corner kicks and crosses it is literally a heart attack each time. We need to either draft a goalie, or trade for somebody.

I find it amazing that we have such a long history of good goalies, and now we have Bouna. Pretty frustrating.

Our past few goalies (Conway, Cepero, Bouna) have all had solid reflexes but fuck up on reading crosses or sometimes basic positioning. Idk what it is but I feel like when we have Des, who is an awesome guy and allegedly one of the leagues best gk coaches, shouldnt we be able to teach these really good athletes/shot stoppers positioning and dealing with corners?

Please tell me somebody got a shot of Jason waggling his ears after the penalty. I hurt myself laughing at that

These views do not represent ESC as a whole, just some jerkoff from Detroit.

Vintage ESC away support. I'm in the next time we travel to America's hat!

It seems Philly fans have signed up on metrofanatic to vote for themselves (in 'What team do you hate more?') . No real fan of this team would vote anything other than DC.

I kinda missed the first 15 or so minutes of the game, any explanation as to why Mac wasn't in the 18? Is he still ineligible to play outside the US?

According to the broadcast there was some paperwork issue so he didn't make the trip

I remember seeing Jay doing his Hulk Hogan impression after the Angel pk. That was awesome.
"With women, it's always one of two things. Either they won't sleep with you, and then there's really no need to ever call them again. Or they DO sleep with you... and then there's really no need to ever call them again." -Monty(Waiting)

As a wise man once said (theredmenace) "Drunk mouths speak sober minds. And apparently, drunk hands grope slightly less drunk asses."

Mike Petke on Julian de Guzman's tackle on Angel: "I just thought it was a combination of them being frustrated and an average player putting a horrible tackle on a good player. Uncalled for."

There is video...

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams
